I think tempers have cooled down enough now over the last 6 months . . . in light of developments over the past year, many people on both sides are more enlightened now than they were earlier . . . even at the trollish boards, people are now mostly civil and considerate about discussing these issues.

I'm sure it has. Good people here.
I just thought this was good news and the last thing I wanted to start was a flame war.

Without bringing up the topic that is not open for discussion, I'm relieved he is caught.
WMD etc aside, the man is responsible for the murder of his own people...thousands, maybe millions.
I hope they bring him to the Hague and make sure he stands trial. We (the coalition/UN) need to set an example for democratic justice (whether or not he deserves it) and not let another Idi Amin or Pinochet go unpunished.
Now, on to Bin Laden...

Isn't Milosovic in the Hague? Maybe he could use a cellmate. I wonder who would be the husband and who would be the wife.
I doubt the Hague will be in Saddam's future. They don't use the death penalty.

Bearded Saddam Doll For Sale Barely 24 Hours After Capture
POSTED: 6:56 AM EST December 16, 2003
UPDATED: 11:35 AM EST December 16, 2003
Barely a day after being captured, Saddam Hussein the captive has been released in doll version.
http://images.ibsys.com/2003/1216/2707688_200X150.jpg
Americans can now buy a heavily bearded doll of the defeated dictator. The doll comes complete with shaggy beard and an ace of spades T-shirt -- a reference to the U.S. most wanted deck of cards.
The site admits: "At first you might not recognize this action figure. U.S. soldiers didn't recognize the man either, with his ratty hair and wild beard."
The web site also has an action figure of Saddam with a mustache, which can be fitted with S&M gear at an extra charge.
The creator of the Saddam doll reportedly said that it may have a voice of its own in the future.
http://images.ibsys.com/2003/1216/2707708_200X150.jpg
The dolls cost around $30 and can be purchased online at www.herobuilder.com.
