I ran across this link recently...

...and it gave me an idea. What if Scapers made up some stickers like this, but instead of trying to get people to avoid purchasing certain products, the messages encouraged them to check out Farscape? So maybe you could put a sticker on Star Trek, Babylon 5, and Lexx DVDs that suggest checking out Farscape as well, and perhaps we could give the URL for this site on the Farscape DVDs for the people who like Farscape but haven't got involved with the campaign yet.
What do you think?

Hi,
I think that that is a good idea. But, I don't know if we can do that. Atleast not with the new ones that are in stores. But, we mite be alb to do that with the dvds that are going to the other places.

Interesting idea. I'll get involved if we decide to do it. :)

bad idea its skirts the line of vandalism and you could get in serious dren with the store if you get caught, and they might have to pull merchandise if they cant remove the stickers and thusly give FS a bad name.
stick with putting bookmarks in books with the same info you would put on the cds\ dvds\ vhs.

1812 rocks is right. You could get in trouble for that. But I very much applaud your trying to think of different ways to advance Farscape. :aok: :aok:

well...noting the above problems presented...can't this idea work if you get permission from the manager of the store?

Well...if you use the little bitty return-address sized stickers AND made sure they're the "removable" kind of labels AND only stick on a few labels per visit... :innocent: ...and neatly hand-write "If you like this, try FARSCAPE!" :innocent: :innocent:
I wouldn't make any mention of this website, though, without first asking permission of the admins.

I agree that putting sticker on packages without both the manufacturer's and shopowner's permission could lead to trouble at worst and could annoy people at best. However, whenever you buy anything from Amazon or B&N and so on, and buy Farscape at the same time, they feed that into their database to create the "people who bought this item also bought THIS" feature. No stickers involved -- al you have to do is, when you buy some Farscape online, combine it with any other purchase. No stickers, but you are achieving exactly the same result.

OOH! I never thought about that before. :)

Amazon.com is a great way to promote the show -- everytime you view anything Farscape or buy anything Farscape, it melds with the database... magic!
If stickers are too annoying (and I see that point), what about mini postcards inside the box? People are used to advertising cards falling out of everything -- magazines, packages, their mail... "I've rented 'Pitch Black' and oooh, what's this falling out of my video container? *If you like this, watch Farscape?* Um, Okay!"
Just don't put them in porn.

What I always do, which is in the same vein as this, is take a couple of Farscape DVD's from the TV section and place them at various other places in the Sci Fi, action, drama, comedy, and new releases sections for movies to increase visibility.
