What did you buy this year that you KNOW the recipient will LOVE?
I bought my son's dad a new keyboard/mouse cause his Enter key is stuck, lol. I bought my kidlet the Nemo DVD and Spiderman socks. He LOVES Spiderman, and he's 4, so thats good for him. This is not a big gift-giving year, cause my car broke down a few weeks ago and the well is dry, lol. But I think the purchases I made were thoughtful and worth it. Now, what to get son's grandma and aunt, who babysit him afternoons....???

The best gift I ever got anyone was a few years ago when I went hunting for books my dad read to me as a kid. I bought the ones that we both loved. Reading to us has always been important to him...on Christmas eve he STILL reads The Night Before Christmas and A Child's Christmas in Wales to us. My youngest sister is now 18. And we love it.
Anyway, when he opened my present, he teared up. The ONLY other time I've ever seen my dad cry is when his dad died.
I'm still proud of myself for that gift. Although I can never seem to outdo it.

Last year I made my boyfriend (who is now my fiance) a full-sized quilt in his favorite colors. It turned out really nice. I didn't think I can top that this year, so I went for quantity and quirkiness.

I can't comment on what I got my sister because she may read this post and then my secret would be out.

I got my mother a black leather jacket that she keeps eyeing every time we are out at the store. She wont buy it for herself because she is always thinking of others first . She needs some cheer this year.

My hubby & I pooled our resources & got a genuine KitchenAid stand mixer! Next year we can get each other accessories...
I don't know which is scarier, when we go into a hardware store or kitchen shop. We're both nuts for gadgets!

My mom and dad live in FL and we dont get to see them only in the summer so i am getting my daughter a video karaoke thing so she can sing and dance and I will also send them the finished tape. Mind you she is only 4 so this should be cute. They always tell me not to buy them anything so they will get this for sure. I know they will love this.
