Okay how many paramedics do you know? eh.

My friends dad has a dairy herd, does that count? He don't ride no horse [mind you I don't know that you do!] mainly cause one kicked him in the mouth and he has a lovely scar on his top lip, and now won't go near the things. Anyrate he just has to stand by the gate and whistle and the cows come home.

Yep ma'am. We just raaaade and raaaade and raaaade, right down to the saloon, where we walk through the swingin' doors and order up a bottle of whiskey. Then we all rip the corks out with our teeth, and spit 'em on the floor as we head over to the poker table for a friendly game. Well, it's friendly now, since Dashing Dave shot Black Bart for cheatin' a few minutes before. Then we ride home, drunker than a bunch of skunks, whoopin' and hollerin' and shootin' our guns off as we round the corner out of town...

They are illegal, but we have a real problem with rising gun crime, mainly in London, but Manchester, Liverpool, and Birmingham too.

They are mainly drug related crimes, like shooting a man for some drug deal gone bad and then shooting his 7 year old daughter case she tells the police. We have also had some rare cases of apparent suicide by cop!! [That's very novel over here as most police are still unarmed]

The first victim of gun crime I attended, as it turns out, was an old mate of mine that I hadn't seen in 12 years. Still up to his old tricks it had been over a woman [I think] and he had only been shot with a point 22, once on the chest which had bounced off and once in the wrist which embedded itself into his radial bone. When I got there we just stood there and laughed at each other. :lol

ETA: Stars that Squirrel link is just hysterical. :rollin:

Where has this poor thread gone... gun crimes, suicides, cowboys getting drunk and leaving, now what could possibly alleviate all this misery?

Hmmmmmm...

OK, so Frun has been laying low, waiting, hoping, praying someone, anyone, no one, would post forward and advance the cause, not really my style, usually I am just so shy… But I guess some crusades are meant to be carried alone, some trials are for the individual, and this is just my cross. Goddess you have given me this burden, and I shall bear it, through thick and thin, preferably thin, through good and bad, unless it’s really so baaaaad it’s good, then it’s really great, sickness and health, although health would again be preferable, no matter how elevated the furniture, no matter how cropped the pants, no matter how close the Pole (capitalized for emphasis), and no matter the spiked heels in the back, just to help lift that distinguished dancer, as requested. Yes, certain causes just can’t be dropped, they are much too important, but how could we have come to this, why the big deal over just a little gratuitous elevated furniture dancing. One can only ponder what might have occurred during previous events (of course they’re previous events, how could they possibly have occurred or not if they weren’t previous? What? You’re just trying to confuse me now, and stop interrupting.)

Superbowl time, when everyone gets ready for the big game, no matter how much of a clunker it is expected to be. Like this one, sure the Panthers earned their way in, but does anyone actually expect them to win? Sure, like yeah, of course you do, but back to the point (there was a point?), thinks one person out there might not be into watching the big game, the most celebrated sporting event in the world (take that World Cup aficionados), pretty much the highest rated program of the year. One thinks but how could this be? How could something like this come to pass? We’ll just have to recreate the events using our advanced Frunium historical account-a-vision. What? On ‘account’ of I have to come up with something that would explain a certain poster’s reluctance to help achieve my unique vision. It’s kinda like art, well, some of that art you see in the big cities, but without the young children, or some of that more graphic stuff, and no death pictures, or any paintings with the person’s eyes on the same side of their face, no matter what some greebol paid for the thing, well, maybe not like that kind of art at all. But you know what I mean. So why would Stars not be interested in the big game, thinks one must begin the story where it all started, please feel free to skip to the last few sentences for those who read their stories first page then end, then all of it. I know some of you are out there, you types are always out there.

So there was Stars, back in school, making eye contact with all the boys, socializing at the school’s big game, homecoming, where everyone attends, well, almost everyone, there are a few who never attend, they usually become psycho killers, snipers, and or network executives, but this story is not about them, especially those greebols who kill favorite shows, the bastiches. It is about a certain someone, who while doing some nearly innocuous flirting, managed to wander into close proximity to a near infamous goal post, where the hero of the last homecoming game, made that winning kick, before a tumultuous crowd. Stars, who at the time was working on merely her fifth concussion, came perilously close to sustaining a sixth on that post. And if she had, she might not ever have been able to mail a letter again. But sadly, that is not where she ‘headed’, but mere moments later, while almost innocently speaking to the captain of the football team, she quickly, and to much great effect by the way, abruptly spun away, and ran right smack into the nearest fence post, right in front of the hot dog vending area. Seeing quite a few stars after this incident, and denting an otherwise perfectly good Pole (still capitalizing just for emphasis) Stars not only conceived a great ‘handle’ for her future internet excursions, was awarded with yet her sixth concussion and subsequent trip to the local hospital where she met a really interesting future ex-boyfriend, and sadly developed not only an aversion to American Football (as if anyone else actually plays football), but also a phobia to all things associated with fences, hot dog vendors, and most importantly (to this thread) Poles!

Poor Stars, won’t know what to do on Super Sunday, and worse, while nearly everyone else is conversing about the game come Monday, around the water cooler, which by the way, has needed to be refilled for two solid weeks now, won’t even know who played, much less who starred, who frelled up, and what even the numbers she had on the office pool, will just have to get that Phys Ed guy to check if she won. And to think, it all could be avoided with just a little gratuitous elevated furniture dancing, wearing nothing even approximating closely cropped infamous monkey pants :aok:, and in close proximity, nay even touching what may, or may not rhyme with ‘Mole’.

Frunium ‘Danger’ Slip, waits with nearly as infamous taps on foot smilie http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0903/spezial/spudniks/spudnikserious.gif

 The entire passage is:
The plant never retreats into the seed for further growth. How could it? Neither should a child or adult retreat into the emotions for mental growth. All moods of whatever type originate in a low plane of thinking only akin to the emotions, sans logic and reason.
Children must not be allowed to run the gamut of their emotions; they must be taught to find mental and emotional balance, never allowing the emotions to rule. One cannot analyze through the emotions; they have no intelligent analysis or reasoning. In moods, the mind becomes subservient to emotion and thus provides the alibis and the distorted thinking and reasons that can be so cunning and dishonest in their interpretations.

It basically deals with analysis of anything, and how it should be based in logic and reason. That logic and reason are the higher plane of thought and mind, and as such are things to be striven for...

Hmm. That's interesting, thank you. I'm agree that logic and emotion should be separate for analysis, but also that expressing one's feelings (in appropriate ways, of course) is beneficial for physical health and mental well-being.

I see red when intimations are made (in general/society at large---I'm not implying anything about the author's views) that men or women are weak because they allow themselves to feel.

I think it's more accurate to say that I would react with emotion (that is, after all, what emotions are, right? biological reaction to a stimulus?).

But if I wanted to debate or argue the point, I'd use logic and reasoning. :)

I got my haircut.... went to the bank.... the post office.... did laundry..... did a little food shopping..... ate lunch..... paid some bills (including rent (ugh))..... talked to me bro on the phone long distance...... forgot to get gas in the car, though (and I'm drivin' on fumes, too). I'll do that tomorrow morning.

Full day today... obviously.

:wavehi:

 I'm amazed that you had all that energy left... after doing laundry...

BC, I put that damn sheep on my desktop and it annoyed me to all hell. Then I couldn't get rid of it.

I almost wished for LL to come and tackle it and drag it off for nefarious purposes... anything to get it off my screen!!!! :grr:
