Fatherhood has settled his flakiness, I think... I saw a Biography about him that was fascinating, and he was very articulate on Inside the Actor's Studio.

I have to see PotC... but until I do, my favorite movie of his will be Chocolat ('cos, he PLAYS GUITAR!!! and has a PONYTAIL!!! and speaks with an Irish brogue, which is THIS CLOSE to being a Scot in a kilt!!!) and then Edward Scissorhands.

HAH!!!! I can see the night sky...the moon and stars!

Sorry... it's been days and DAYS.

[ song ]

Under blue moon I saw you

so soon you'll take me
up in your arms
too late to beg you
or cancel it though
I know it must be the
killing time
unwillingly mine

Fate up against your will
through the thick and thin
he will wait until
you give yourself to him

In starlit nights I saw you
so cruelly you kissed me
your lips a magic world
your sky all hung with jewels
the killing moon
will come too soon

Fate up against your will
through the thick and thin
he will wait until
you give yourself to him

When I came back from Christmas holiday, it was around 2 in the morning, and it was freezing outside. As I dragged my luggage from the taxicab to my apartment, a small doberman puppy came from around a corner and started dancing on her (yes, I'm sure it was a female) hind legs, presumably to be attended to or whatever.
Now, I'm not a dog person by any stretch of the imagination. But this little girl was such a sweetheart that I couldn't help but bend down and pet her (after I paid the Nazi cabbie an arm, a leg, the rights to my firstborn, and my soul).
She wouldn't let me get into my apartment, though. There are strict rules against pets larger than a goldfish in a five gallon bowl, and she was definitely bigger than that, though not by much. I broke the rules that night and brought her in. I put her in the bathroom because there was no other place that I could be sure she wouldn't make a mess of (since I wasn't sure if she was paper-trained).
Anyway, long story short (like there's really a point, now) : I can't leave animals stranded out in freezing weather, either. Even if it means a fine from the school (which I didn't get, thank goodness).

I called campus security and told them that there was a puppy wandering around, and they sent people by to come pick her up (I got her out of the apartment before they came).

Waaaaaay back when I was about nine or so, we lived in a very rural area of Australia, and there were so many Kangaroos that were left unregulated. It's actually sad, because as often as you see dead armadillos and opossums here in the rural highways is how often one would see a dead kangaroo that got hit by something.

BrowderChick
02-05-2004, 11:15 PM
Oh that is horrible.....I lived in Pueblo and sometimes I would see stuff like that.. Not 'roos though but othere cute animals and I have no way of helping them there as it was a national wildlife refuge and its nature taking its course...

Oh god. I am glad I didnt play it. But with spam, I think its funny as to the names they use to send you stuff and I get it where they use my email name and my real name. Whats worse is on my phone my name is not my first name. When they spam me using my middle name then I get hot and call the phone company for selling my name. Well that's what the mydoom virus does. It gets into someone's address book and emails everyone, without them knowing it. So you could get emails addressed from people you know, and it might look okay, but if you open the attachment it releases the worm into YOUR address book.

Don't open any attachments unless you know what they are. And if you see a weird subject line, like a random string of letters or the sender is someone you don't know, just delete the email without opening the attachment.

I got a funny one (besides the one from myself) from mrborg@wearetheborg.com . I was soooo tempted to open it... :)

I have this watch and the band broke but its a Seiko and has a weird size for a band....

The area where you clip the pins in is 8mm but the band itself should be about 10 or 11 mm.....I cant find a replacement band anywhere and I cant find a site that sells them either...

Ok, I was lookinf for a thread in which to post something very OT and maybe even a little muckraking (need something to do for the next half hour until Joan of Arcadia comes on, the only show we watch these days), and then I find this thread, and well, I guess I feel absolutely helplessly upstaged by it all.

What?!!!!!!! Elevated furniture!!!!! Oh yeah baby!!!! Knew all that begging and pleading, er, I mean, eloquent posting, yeah, that's it, eloquent posting, would finally pay off...

I'm absolutely sure that if you mention an elevated table that you would not be making it up. Although there might be just a little catch...

And video tapes, hmmmmm... seems a very good idea...

Until they get placed on the internet and then your dear poor mother sees them, then all hezmana breaks loose, uh, or so I've been told...

Edited because exactly how many 'am's does one need in a sentence?

You just had to go there didn't you? And the :ppbb: to boot...

So let's look at the facts, minus all the immature posturing...

1. Stars will be teaching a workshop.
2. There will be an elevated table.
3. There have been requests for video tapes.
4. There is a guest list.
5. There may be quite a few $20.00 bills.
6. Stars has shown good taste prior to this evening, and knows an eloquent post when she sees one.

So what do we deduce from these stated, and a somewhat postulated fact?

1. Stars is really aggravating tonight.
2. She may have had a little too much caffeine.
3. There may be some correlation between Stars sudden vigor, and my dog's sudden lack of energy, thinks maybe Stars has perfected a canine energy zapping ray, and is well into her insidious plan to take over the world. Or fix dinner, which ever comes first.
4. Thinks about past instructors, predicts that Stars big event will have about the same nerve tingling excitement as a debate club event.
5. Not that there is anything wrong with the debate clubs that some of you geeks might have belonged to, it’s just not Friday night football, I'm just sayin'...

Around my neck of the woods, there's a handful of Chinese restaurants. Not many, and nothing great.... but a few are pretty decent. There's a LOT of Sushi places and Thai places (I'm not much for either).... and of course the plentyful Mexican restaurants.

Way up north, east of San Fran (in Moraga) I had the opportunity to eat at this Chinese place called Uncle Li's (pronounced Lee's). It was about 7-8 years ago. Without a doubt the BEST chinese meal I EVER had!
