ummm.. hrmm... are you putting yourself in as a guest? although you don't have to join the page to enter.. all you should have to do is click on the "chat room" and then check the top to make sure that it has a name for you.. then hit "enter the room"...

BlackThorn
02-07-2004, 06:34 PM
I've put myself in, and I click on the enter chat link thingy. The window pops up with an add bar at the top of the window, and on a mostly white screen there's text that says I need a Java enabled browser to use the chat. Nothing more happens.

I checked my Java capabilities by going to a couple other sites with Java items, and they all work fine.

got this from their troubleshooting site.. try this and see if it works..

For IE Please goto browser 'Tools' option, click on 'Internet option...',
click on 'Delete File' and 'clear history' button on 'General' tab page.

you might also want to check and make sure you don't have any strange symbols in the name.. it won't accept them..

BlackThorn
02-07-2004, 06:43 PM
Tried it, and it didn't work. Same thing happening again. And no, I made sure my name followed the specifications.

KellEy.. "red"
02-07-2004, 06:43 PM
also... if your internet security is set to "high" it won't allow it through...

aaaand... your firewall could be blocking http and non-http requests...

i sort of doubt that last one because you can go to other places where java applets launch...

BlackThorn
02-07-2004, 06:47 PM
Hmmm . . . doesn't seem to be that either.

KellEy.. "red"
02-07-2004, 06:49 PM
that's pretty much all it could be according to the troubleshooting tips..

all i can say is to try again and just let it sit there.. if the ads are coming up then it's connected to the server... i know there have been a couple of times when it literally takes a few minutes for it to actually connect to the chat.. and we'll know if you're entering because it plays a sound..

BlackThorn
02-07-2004, 06:50 PM
I've let it sit for 15-20 minutes and nothing happened, but I'll try again.

Well not to interrupt such though provoking blathering, er I mean posting, but I think it's time for a little gratuitous verbiage on elevated furniture. And no, I am not talking about that debate club you were a charter member of...

As usual, I am totally thieving someone else's idea and twisting it to mine own nefarious purposes. So with apologies to Otto the Mild, and Selena, my own take of the last few agonizing hours that led to the end of the strike in Homebush and re-instatement of the beloved stars of our favorite show...

:news:

This report just in:

In a rather bizarre turn of events, the entire collection of Fuzzy-Als aka sock puppets, have reportedly walked off the Homebush Bay sets. Curiously, this event occurred just before the picketing actors of the show FarScape returned to their assignments. When questioned, a rather unscrupulous co-Executive Producer, wearing rather mysterious scars around his neck, reputedly from a blue slinky, which allegedly occurred during a spat with the lead male star, stated that the socks puppets had seemingly vanished during a rather routine wash and rinse cycle at a local bathing salon built specifically for the puppets. When questioned further, he went on to relate that the substitute actors, while accomplished in their own right, were not able to perform to the Executive Producers’ satisfactions sans sock puppets. In a desperate attempt to save the production, aforementioned (:aok: ) Execs, then made a desperate attempt to lure the previous cast back to the studios. The original cast had walked out on the filming due to the star billing that the missing sock puppets were to receive. Sources denied that the striking cast had any responsibility in the disapearance of the puppets.

In related news, substitute actor Tom Cruise was taken to the local hospital suffering from an acute case of trench mouth, and a very swollen tongue. An anonimous crew member stated that Mr. Cruise had taken his boot-licking toady role just a touch too seriously, and while undoubtably sincere in his desire to play the role, has been replaced by the original actor. ‘Thank the stars that we were able to get the original cast back’, stated Executive Producer David Kemper, ‘what with Clooney suffering heat delireum from being in the leather, Cruise in the hospital, and the missing Fuzzy-Als, things were really starting to look as bleak as one of the season cliffhangers.’

The above news article was brought to you by Honey Nut D'Argos, and the Hyper Rage Awareness Association which like the Luxan News Service are fictional subsidiaries of Satirical PseudoCorp, Inc. and your infamous friends at Uncharted Territories who just have to have their meat-hooks in everything...

And to follow up all ye of little faith...

:news:

This news flash update just in:

This reporter has just been informed that the notorious Fuzzy-Als aka sock puppets, never really disappeared at all, but left in yet another dispute at the Homebush Bay studios. Apparently, the sock puppets viewed the original casts’ absence as a chance to be really flaunt their star power, and thus managed to upset nearly every one associated with the production. A member of the film crew, with the title of Assistant to the Assitant to the Fuzzy-Als, states that they were near impossible to be around within just a few hours of the stars’ strike. She stated, ‘first they asked for M&Ms, and not just any M&Ms, they only wanted the green M&Ms, when I asked what should I do with all the other M&Ms they got really potty mouthed.’ But I questioned her on why they would have walked out, and she stated that the final straw was the denial of the sock puppets choice of entertainment. Apparently, the sock puppets were fond of a little dancing, but being just the appendage garments that they are, couldn’t actually dance themselves. But dancing they liked, so the Executive Producers decided with the original cast gone walk about, and the delays caused by casting new stars, what the hey, give the little guys what they want. But alas, the choice of dancer was not the best, as she soon put a damper on the festivities, by not only refusing to come anywhere near the pole, which had been customed designed by the sound stage carpenters, nor even deign to climb the illustrious elevated furniture, nor even crop a certain pair of infamous monkey pants, nay, not even attempt to perform any of the accustomed dance moves. The sock puppets were furious, and just a tad nappy, and walked off the set in fit of white dander rage.

‘Luckily, the producers got together, and after much debate, a lot of yelling, a few punches, and a whole lot of on your knees groveling by a certain co-executive Producer, not to mention a few four-eyed goat sacrifices, the stars of the show did return to save the production,’ stated a Henson official. ‘But it was a close thing.’

Poor Stars, nearly destroying the hard work of so many, and suffering the outrages of a certain very vocal fan base. And to think it all could have gone so smoothly, if Stars had just jumped up on that elevated furniture, wearing nothing even resembling cropped monkey pants, and in close proximity, nay even touching, something that may or may not rhyme with ‘Mole.’ But alas the sock puppets in space adventure was not to be, so we’ll all have to just settle for more of the same old FarScape, and to think of what it might have been…

Frunium ‘Danger’ Slip, and yes still using the ‘Danger’ is spite of what some would like to think, and waiting with that nearly as infamous taps on foot smilie... http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0903/spezial/spudniks/spudnikserious.gif

I don't think the post was meant to imply there was anything wrong with him. We were talking about older men who were still very hot. I didn't add guys like him or Harrison Ford or Mel Gibson because I don't consider them to be old. Guess it's because I'm 22 and my dad is going to be 60 this year and he doesn't look it or act it.
