for April 15th thru the 18th, 2004 for Accapella and SpefacaR's Birthday Bash!!!!
Tell the boss you are leaving now so you can have off !!!

Yes, we will be introducing William (SpefacaR) - my brother - to New Orleans -
he has never been there and is turning 21 - so he will be legal to finally be illegal LOL
His birthday is March 24th and mine is April 12th - I will be turning 29 - don't remind me of how
old I am getting LOL Absolutely no presents are necessary (except for Will - buy him a drink and
he will love ya forever LOL - we just want all our Scaper family to join us for this awesome party!!!

So, without further ado - here is all the information I have so far and more will be coming as I get it


We will be staying at the lovely Baronne Plaza Hotel and you can get all the info you would like at
http://www.baronneplaza.com/index.html for hotel amenities and services.
There is also a map on how to get there and phone number information.

Check IN to the hotel is on Thursday, April 15th, 2004 at 3:00 PM.
Check OUT is on Sunday, April 18th, 2004 at 11:00 AM.

If you would like to stay longer - you can make your own arrangements when you make your reservation -
but I cannot promise the same rates for any extra.

I was able to talk with Louisa Brant at the hotel at 1-888-756-0083 and she has blocked off a group rate
for us for the weekend. I have already reserved my room, and here is what you need to do to reserve yours

ALL reservations have to be done no later than FEBRUARY 26th, 2004.
This is the cut off date that the 10 rooms that I blocked off for us will be put back into the system
if not all are reserved. Now, I was guessing on how many people will be coming to our Scapefest -
but 10 rooms at 4 people per room = 40 people - we have never had that many before -
so I was guessing high just in case - and in the event that we need more -
Louisa said that should not be a problem.

The rates per room for 4 people per room are as follows:

04/15/04 = $99 per night
04/16/04 = $139 per night
04/17/04 = $139 per night
each reservation is subject to 13% tax and $1.00 per night fee (this is straight off the web site)

So, with 4 people per room with tax and everything - this will cost about $108 per person for all three nights.
This is still a GREAT deal compared to the other hotels for this weekend.

Just an FYI - if you want to reserve a room for yourself - the rates are about $20 cheaper per night.

So - to make your reservation, you can call the hotel at 1-888-756-0083 and use a credit card over the phone
just to guarantee your reservation - they do not charge it - you pay for your stay when you get there.
The group reservation is under SCAPEFEST, and/or my name - Elizabeth Sarver.
If you do not have a credit card - you can either find a roomate that does and is going to make the reservation -
or call the hotel and arrange payment/reservation over the phone.

The parking at the hotel is $15 a day for those of us who are driving -
and there is an airport shuttle for $10 straight to the hotel for those of you who are flying -
or if there is an emergency or difficult situation - you can call me and we will come get you.

Here is just a taste of the schedule and what we will be enjoying during the weekend:

I did say we were going on a cruise right? Yes - a jazz and dinner cruise!!!
They have a complete menu (which I will get after we make our reservation), and have live jazz music for our
enjoyment all during the cruise. It is lots of fun as anyone that went on the last one will tell you.
However, since both boats are already reserved for private parties that weekend (of course - just our luck) -
the only night available is on Thursday the 15th. Boarding is at 6pm and the cruise is from 7 to 9 pm.
The price is $43 per person, and the reservation is required to be made by one person and at least half
of the payment must be received by their company one month before the date of the event.
If you would like to find out more about the cruise and/or verify any of this info - please call 1-504-586-8777.
I will go ahead and reserve our group when all of you let me know who wants to go -
and then you need to send me at least $22 by March 10th, 2004.
You can pay the whole thing at once if you like - or pay the rest at the cruise when we get there.
I know some of you may not be able to get to the party until Friday, but I hope everyone can make it on
Thursday to enjoy the meet and greet and the dinner cruise.
Please let me know ASAP if you want me to reserve you a spot for the dinner cruise.

SpefacaR's one request was that we go to the New Orleans Zoo. So, on Friday morning at 12 noon,
we will ride the John James Audubon Riverboat to the ZOO and spend the day with the animals and scenery.
Some of us have been there before - it was great fun - but wear sunblock (as I learned from last time) LOL
The price is $22.50 for the riverboat and the zoo, and probably around the same amount or more for food and
souvenirs while there. But, I have a coupon for everyone that goes for $3.00 off the ticket price -
I am printing it off the internet site for the riverboat and have called already to verify that the coupon will be

Friday night, we will hit out traditional party place of Pat O'Briens and enjoy hurricanes and the

I did not even know that!!! I will have to go check it out now!! LOL

We will be enjoying all the fun at the French Quarter festival this year on Friday night and Saturday.
They do not have any 2004 info updated on their site yet except for the dates - http://frenchquarterfestival.com/ -
but you can look at all the things they had for 2003 - it will be much of the same for 2004.
The basic premise of the festival is lots of food and music and FUN!!!
Down past the Square right by the mighty Mippippippi - they have 60 or more booths of nothing but
GREAT Cajun food from all the restaurants in the French Quarter.
Then they have a huge stage set up for bands that play allllllll day from 10AM to 11 PM.
It really gives you a great look at what the French Quarter has to offer.
I will keep checking to see when the 2004 info will come up and I will let you know to check it out
if you are interested.

On Sunday, we will go to Cafe Du Monde for beignets and cafe ole as is our tradition.
Since we have to be checked out of the hotel by 11 AM - we can discuss how we want to do this.
I am sure we can keep our luggage at the hotel in a safe place if we have to - or stuff it in my car LOL j/k -
but I know we can work it out to where we can all still enjoy the morning together since
I doubt any of us will be up in time to go before check out time LOL.
And anyone that wants to stay and enjoy the rest of the festival or do anything else is welcome to -
my little group tries to stay at least till 2 or 3 in the afternoon -
then we have to take the long drive back to San Antonio.
