Raffle Fun For Everyone

DRD2001 and I have decided to give the PMU Project a little push. So we are going to raffle off some items.

Here is how it will work everyday we will be posting items for the raffle. So check back often. When you donate to the PMU project you are given numbers. One number for each $1 you contribute. If you contribute $10 we'll give you 12 entries.

For those of you thinking big we have the option of choosing to be in the raffle or the first 7 donors of $50 get a comm badge, datachip, stickers, key tag, and a premium trading card. If they give $100, they get all the above plus the tic-tac-toe game and the artwork.

Just so everyone knows, the tic-tac-toe game is hand crafted by me. :) It is made out of 1/4" acrylic, with a Peacekeeper motif as the board. The background plate is 1/8" acrylic with a glitter effect, like stars. The pieces are acrylic in the shape of Xs andOs with engraved pictures on them. You will get 5 Peacekeepers (or allies) and 5 Moya crew.

Xs = Crais, Braca, Scorpius, Natira and Grayza

AWESOME!!
I'll have pictures of the stickers up tonight. They are really nice and of a long lasting quality. The approximate size of each of them is 3.5" X 5". For our big donors who go straight for a package, you will get several stickers, with opportunities to make character preferences.

Here is a pic of the stickers. It is a bit fuzzy, and it certainly does not show the brightness of some of the colors. The stickers are made of vinyl material and have an outdoor life of about 7 years. They will not fade or run. Although you do not see all the main characters in this pic, I do have them.

Did you notice the web site on the side of the sticker? For those who do a big bucks donation you can have your web site there instead. I can change it to say southeastscapers.com or bostonscapers.com or whatever.

That pic doesn't really do those stickers justice. I've got a couple and they are REALLY professional looking. Hey, even some jerk back in the summer tried to get away in selling some of them on e-Bay!

These were items I made for Dragon*Con and I think they came out quite nice. Materials used were acrylic, vinyl and paint. We are also going to include 2 comm badges, 2 data chips and 2 key chain tags in each package that is shipped out. You will be given a choice of which 2 characters you want on the key chain tag.

Just $10, we would reach our goal, and a lucky foal would get a cool Farscape name and go on to help provide physical therapy to children and adults. I know things are tight right now, with the holidays and other projects, but if you can skip the fast food combo meal 2 times, you'd have the money saved. :charge:

OH and I wanted to add that hopefully there won't be as many babies offered in the future. I think Premarin is falling out of favor. My husband is a Doc {tho not GYN } and he doesn't prescribe it at all. They have other drugs now with less side effects.

From what I understand the company who makes it has told the ranchers that they are cutting way back on their production. The rancher where these foals are coming from has been told he is being cut. It sounds like many are also. The Ransom Ranch will continue to look for other ranchers who do this.

Hello All

Just got off the phone with Abe Phillips...

The foals are looking good! Abe is very hopeful that in 2weeks that these foals will be ready. Once the foals are delivered, does everyone have quarantine pen/paddock ready? Is anyone putting their foal with other horses/boarding stables? I am asking these questions to determine level of concern. Todate - it looks like 13 out of the 17 have had strangles...sometimes horses/foals never get it, so we'll have to wait and see if these 4 break (they may have had a low grade strangles, who knows). I do not know which foals did not get strangles...Abe couldn't remember the numbers.



The reason why Abe has not sent pictures, is that he forgot his camera charger in a different province! He says "sorry" ...it is being shipped as we speak and should be there soon. I told him I must get pictures...I am sorry guys, I know all of this is so hard and frustrating and you all have been so amazing! the best adopters ever:)

Out of curiosity, what is strangles?

You can go to here and get a complete work up but in short its a swelling of the lymph glands that causes fever. It does also cause a discharge of yellow pus.

Strangles I believe is a type of Rhino virus? I haven't actually seen a case in 30 years personally around here, but the horses I deal with are heavily vaccinated against it. I had heard there was a breakout in our area a few years ago. It's pretty gross but if treated not life threatening.

I do stress quarantine any horse coming from another country or even from a far area, or even a coming from a barn you are unfamiliar with.

Which reminds me, I need to call my Vet for spring shots :( They always make poor Vin sick.

Edited to say Divine ...thanks I checked the site. It's bacterial, not rhino virus. I didn't know that?
