I'm usually not that swayed by advertising, but...I REALLY, REALLY want a sleep number bed. I can't afford one, but I'm thinking of starting a savings fund for that purpose.

If I had one, I wouldn't have anymore problems and my life would be perfect.

My parents have one with the contour foam stuff. It's sweet. Sometimes I take my nap in there instead of my room! LOL My cousins have one, too..well, I think he said it was the Sears posturepedic...or however you spell that.

You're not pathetic, Judith_Shakespeare. If you start lusting after the ginsu knife, then we'll have to talk! :P

I tried one of those sleep number beds in a store. Got my "sleep number" and everything. And now every time I wake up with something aching or bothering me, I think "If only I had that sleep number bed..."

*sigh*

That's not pathetic, Judith. Those things look dern comfortable ;) This is pathetic -----> Very nearly being swayed to buy 4.1 (even though I already have it) just because I was so grateful to the store for setting up a little Farscape display. :loco:

I've watched the infomercial about 3 times now. I need a new mattress but I'm too cheap to buy one right now. I keep thinking that if I wait long enough, I'll suddenly come into money and get that bed instead! :D

How much does one of these beds actually run?

my parents have the foam confort pillows and they're nice for them but i prefer my regular down feather pillows.

www.selectcomfort.com has a chart that lets you price the mattress you want. a 3000 that is the most basic sleep number mattress will run at about 1,000 (queen size) depending on your features.

HAHAHAHAHA Another As Seen On TV product......

I think that bed is so cool. I want one too...I have trouble sleeping and I either have to change my bed to something with no pillows or I create a "nest" with tons of pillows....With that bed I wouldn't have to get up and do anything, just hit a button....

How good are these beds (both the sleep number, and the
countour foam thingy) for, um, other activities besides sleeping?

JS I wouldn't call you pathetic at all. Strange comes to mind though.

Not that I'm one to judge. :D

Good question! I wonder if it helps to have the two sleep numbers set the same.....
