the alien insect race you're talking about in Andromeda is the Than-Thre-Kull, or Than (or Thann or Thanh).

There is a race of aliens in Babylon 5 called Drakh. They weren't bug-like though -- more reptilian-like. They did employ something kind of bug-like called a Keeper to help them control other people though.

There was a race called the Drazi on B5. There was also a race called the Drakh who were introduced on B5 as servants of the Shadows. IIRC the Drakh were the ones who seeded earth with the virus that was the premise for the series Crusade. I think they also made an appearance in Legend of the Rangers, but I am not 100% sure of that.

My following post contains spoilers for Babylon 5, if you haven't seen it and are watching it for the first time or think you are going to watch it and don't want to know what happens, please skip this post, otherwise keep reading.

The Drakh never made an appearance in Legend of the Rangers, but they were the ones that released the biotech plague on Earth for A Call To Arms a cure for which was being hunted for in Crusade.

Additionally in season five of Babylon 5, the Drakh were the ones that installed Shadow devices on empty Centauri ships and used them to attack various Alliance worlds in season five causing the Drazi and the Narn to organize together to attempt a large-fleet assault on Centauri Prime. The Drakh are the ones who took away much of the Regent's freewill via Keeper in season five causing him to turn off the planetary defense network and send away the local defense fleet guarding Centauri Prime when the Drazi and Narn fleet arrived thus giving the fleet free ability to bomb the planet. Further more, the Drakh via Keeper took control of Londo at the end of season five threatening to detonate hidden bombs throughout Centauri Prime's cities if Londo did not comply with their demands. They also forced Londo to give Sheridan and Delenn an urn that had a hidden Keeper inside its base as a present for their then unborn child.

The "Legion of Fire" trilogy, which is Babylon 5 canon, is a great book trilogy that contains more movements of the Drakh through Centauri politics, what happened to Sheridan and Delenn's son when the Keeper in the urn awoke, and some great developments of Vir's character. By reading, one learns about the future that Sheridan saw during his time in the future in "The War Without End Part 2."
