Okay, if Judith_Shakespeare can start a "Pees in the Shower" thread, I can start one about underwear. :lol That, and I'm really bored.
So what kind do you prefer? Ladies: briefs, thongs, bikinis, none, those cute little boy shorts, other?
Gentlemen? Breifs, boxers, boxer-breifs, commando, other?
I prefer commando myself, but I have some of all of the above in the Ladies section.
What about you?

I prefer commando most of the time, but with jeans I opt for briefs. I guess I'm just a bit paranoid about zippers ...
On guys, I love boxer briefs. I just think they're *so* sexy ... :ewink:

I wear Victoria's Secret cotton high-cut briefs or bikinis. I can't stand thong underwear because it feels like I have a wedgie all day. If pantylines are a problem I would be more likely to skip the undies all together than to deal with a thong. The boy shorts look cute, but they crawl too much.
On guys, boxer shorts are sexy!

This is what I usually wear too, except I've also started buying the satin ones lately. The cut is the same.
I think boxers on guys are really sexy. :)

Why did my mind go directly to Brazillian Bikini Wax? Yikes!!!
I always considered undergarments a middle man - they just kind of get in the way, and one more thing to fill the laundry basket.

Me too! I wore them as a Halloween costume one year (when I was little). It took me 20 some odd years to realize that my mother let me walk around in ONLY my underoos outside for everyone to see.
Unfortunately for me, she still has the pictures.

Why do they do that??? And the naked baby pictures! Honestly! And when I was little, my mother bought me a white bathing suit to wear to the beach. Luckily, I was like 5, and didn't know the difference...but everyone at the Jersey shore that year got a free show of a little kid! :g2f:

:bigwave: ok stupid European person here but what on earth are commandos and underoos ??? :wstupid:
Me, I used to wear thongs last year but I do find them extremely uncomfortable so I'm changing to what I think you call boy shorts (or at least I think that's what they are called over there)
The only thing I really hate on guys are thongs!!! :spew: That would be a serious turnoff for me! I also prefer underwear with no patterns and stuff on them for men, just plain one color is best.
Oh wait I just thought of something else I've seen in a shop that made me do a double take. See through and briefs for men, ewwwwww!

Commando = no underwear
Reference - Friends ep. 302 ------
Ross: Okay, now hold on. Joey, why can't you just wear the underwear you're wearing now?
Joey: Because, um, I'm not wearing any underwear now.
Ross: Okay, then why do you have to wear underwear tonight?
Joey: It's a rented tux, Okay. I'm not gonna go commando in another man's fatigues.
....
Joey: Okay, buddy-boy. Here it is: You hide my clothes, I'm wearing everything you own.
Chandler: Oh my God! That is so not the opposite of taking somebody's underwear!
Joey: Look at me--I'm Chandler! Could I be wearing any more clothes? Maybe if I wasn't going commando!
....
Rachel: Come on. Oh! And, uh, by the way...
Ross: What?
Rachel: I'm going commando, too.

commando in this context is without underwear [remember to only do this in your own clothes!]
underoos were a brand name for children's underwear with various cartoon characters on them...

Underoos are a brand of children's (just boys or girls too?) underpants and tee shirts. I think it may be a subsiderary of Jockey. Anyway they usually have some super hero pattern, like Spiderman, Superman, Hulk, etc. on them.
Edited to add:
Maybe we should start a campaign to get Farscape Underoos?

Looks like they're having a clearence online now with their underwear starting at $2.99.. you should check it out if you want some.. probably the cheapest they'll be for a while.

As for the male species, I still think boxers are sexier than briefs, but when it comes to underwear it needs to be comfortable.

Asthmatic here, too. You taking a steroid inhaler or just on rescue meds? I've found the former really cuts down my reaction to dogs and indoor pets, though my sinuses can still get a little out of control.

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. Steroid inhalers are MUCH lower in dosage, so you don't go psycho like people on prednisone tablets and steroid shots. They also won't cause you to grow big. :spew: Er, well, you know what I mean.
If you are using a rescue inhaler more than once a day, you don't have the asthma under control. It nearly killed me a few times before they put me on this regimen many years ago. Now I can mountain bike and do other things that the ladies seem to like. :innocent:

Hey grinner, my daughter is on Advair, and she's not had that much of a problem with weight or getting an appetite increase...You may want to try it out and then give feedback to your doctor. I had asthma pretty bad as a child, and both my kiddos have susceptibility (mostly due to allergic reactions), so we have 2 nebulizers, rescue inhalers, and LOTS of Advair...
Oh yeah, I wear a lot of VS, (when they're on sale, I go nutty), usually the in-between briefs and bikinis (3 pregnancies here, and the last one I got MEGA stretch marks! UGH!!!) As for bras, MUST be underwire (see above - nursing takes a toll). When in high school I was a D cup also (at 5'5" & only 110 lbs, turned sideways and looked like a "P") but each pregnancy took me down a little YAY!!! I can wear the snugger tops and NOT look like I'm ready to "step out"! LOL

Wow, this thread really took off! Catching up now:
Bras - I wear underwires most of the time because it isn't comfortable not to have adequate support.
Sleepwear - I like to sleep naked when it is warm enough, but otherwise I wear just a shirt (tank, T, or long-sleeve T depending on how cold I am). And oh yea, sometimes I wear fuzzy socks.
Breasts and how they look best - mine look nicest when they are underwater (they float! no gravity! no bras necessary - miracle or otherwise!). :lech:

underwire, definitely. i agree with jacqui, only a B cup, but i like the support. i have a bra that doesn't have an underwire and it just makes me look flat and saggy...and i've got a B cup as it is, so it's not like i need to look flatter than i am...i'm not flat though. i tell myself and the twins that everyday.
and for those of you who are a C or D cup and can't find adequate bras, try victoria's secret. their bras are top notch and they have them in the sizes you'd be looking for.
right now they're having their Semi-Annual sale, as usual...i love their S-A sale.
and another friend's reference...do you remember the episode when rachel and ross have just broken up and they decide to go on a ski trip, but don't invite ross? and then phoebe's cab gets stuck in the snow and they accidentally lock themselves in....guess what phoebe uses to unlock the doors? thats right...the underwire.

NOT FOR ME! I'M NOT SINGLE ANYMORE!!! ::runs around laughing maniacally, gripping candy hearts::
on a side note, i got sucked into this thread...i was supposed to --guess what...do laundry. but noooo the thread about laundry distracted me from actually doing any.
And now, i pose a question to all of you ladies... white, black, or assorted colors? i personally prefer black and white. as for undies, i generally wear black. black is the epitome of sexy and it's slimming! but i've recently started to concede to the fact that i can't always find black underwear so i've gotten into patterns and cute underwear, mostly at VS. must love VS. i got a few pairs (why is it pairs of underwear?) of thongs from their sale yesterday.
i have black bras and white bras, but have had one lacey black and white bra that i never wear cause it's padded... so they make my boobs a little more pushed up...
i don't wear it that often cause it makes me look a little disproportioned, i think. and then the focus is on the twins instead of the witty comments i make. granted i'm only a B cup, but thats in proportion to my waist, so i'd end up looking a little strange.
and another question: thongs: yea or nay?
i personally like them. i think they're comfortable and helpful cause i don't need VPL...my butt's big as it is. i don't need underwear separating the fat into 4 sections.

AgentSun,
Assorted colors, and yea to thongs. Love 'em. When I wear underwear, it's mainly cute lacy boy shorts, or thongs. Don't see how people find them to be uncomfortable.
As an aside, I put on one of my tank tops I got from saneTV a bit ago (yes, I remember it's freezing in my house, I put a sweatshirt on over top), and I would like to say that even with a B cup, a tight shirt is adaquate, if you're not particpating in any strenuous activity.

Exactly. How I would love to be able to wear cute white undies during that time...but it's just not smart.

so that would make them not totally quite unlike underwear a boy would wear? Sounds like a marketing ploy... but then again the store I buy underwear from is called TARGET and they are 5 pair for $7.99...so what do I know...

5 for $7.99 wow... I typically get them for 5 for $9.99 at Target. Boxers and the boxer-briefs. Can't stand briefs.
Besides... Target is the one place that I can get size 15 socks for less than $2 a pair. Some stores SUCK with their big and tall pricing.

Underwear: Bikinis all the way. Grannie panties are just uncomfortable, and thongs . . . ugh, I hate wearing butt floss.
Bras: I have yet to find underwire that doesn't hurt me. Something about the shape of my ribcage. Unless I'm wearing some nice top that needs a particular type of bra, I go for sports bras. Not the full ones with the cross straps in the back. I found some nice ones that are basically like a tube top with spaghetti straps for lift and elastic support under the loomas. Very comfortable for me. They support, and they don't have the complete uniboob effect. Plus, I'm small (can wear both A and B cup bras) so I don't need a whole lot of support.
Men in underwear: I prefer boxers and boxer-briefs, but I'm fine with anything that isn't a thong.

ok now i want to go back to VS and get more underwear...i just might tomorrow!
i don't get how thongs are uncomfortable...i think they're comfortable and practical. i'm just in woe when my period comes (can it be that we're crossing threads with "pees in shower" and "underwear habits"?) cause i can't wear thongs...which means i drastically shorten the list of pants i can wear, because i can't wear regular underwear with pants that don't have pockets to distract people.
some women i've seen need to invest in a thong. and some women i've seen who are...festively plump...to the nth degree...need to STOP investing in thongs. my poor boyfriend has had horrific experiences in classes sitting behind these women who have no business showing off their underwear. and they happen to bend over or stand up and....i think if he witnesses this one more time, he'll break out in tears.

here's a question for you guys... we know that women generally prefer a certain brand of underwear (VS seems to be the preferred choice here), depending on the comfort and how it makes them feel, but do you guys feel any sexier in a particular brand, whether its CK or fruit of the loom?

My favorite teacher "taught" our Gen Psych class this... if you (A WOMAN) ever have your car break down on the side of the road and are afraid of being raped, mugged, or murdered... all you'd have to do to keep guys away from you is to stick a maxi pad on your forehead... they'll be so mortified they won't come near you..

and i'll stick with my appreciation of the male species.
yesterday i was in a store and there were a few novelty t-shirts. and the two that caught my eye were "my boyfriend is cuter than your boyfriend" and "if you're cute, i'm single." now, i'm not single, but i thought that would be a really funny shirt to wear in front of my boyfriend...he'd laugh too, but there is that possibility he won't, so uh...i didn't get either one.
