Anyone played it?What is it about? Are there any quest elements in it or it's just a shoot-the-bad adventure?

I played it and hated it, seemed very cheap to me. Like when you run out of ammo, there is this obvious recorded voice of john saying "I'm out of ammo" in a very calm voice... the same sound plays every time you try to fire your gun when out of ammo.. thats just one example of why i think it is cheap.. On top of that the gameplay isnt anything special :D
Hope that helps

Thats sad...Greatest tv program ever next to a poor game, most of the gamers never heard of...
They should of ordered a game to Black Isle...
Some Farscape quest/adventure game would be great :)
Hey I think Crichton is calm when saying "I'm out of ammo" because he knows you saved the game a minute ago :rollin:

Ive played it and i thought it was crap.
What we need is a group of dedicated Scapers who are skilled in the area of game design to come up with a new farscape game that actually doesnt suck. with better graphics and etc.
the Farscape game just seemed to me as being a 'rushed' job.

I think it was a good idea, about some hardcore scapers developing a Fascape game worth playing, might that be a job for the Savefarscape-community? should we make a thread about it and ask if anybody is up for it? I am, personally, completely without talent in that field, but there might be someone else out there who would take up the challange...?

I played the game all the way through. It had its moments. I personally would have like a FPS. The items they included like D'Argo's Qualta Blade would have looked even cooler in a FPS game, same with the pulse pistol, pulse rifle and so on.
I just took it for what it was, and am keeping it as part of my collection of Farscape stuff. I mean at least it did have the actual cast doing the voice over work even if some of it is a tad repetitive.
I liked some of the dialogue, like when Chiana rips a piece of Aeryn's prowler off for a weapon and Crichton says Aeryn is going to kill her :D

"Was that lost?" "It is now."
"Just get in the hole."
It's hardly amazing, but it's a nice bargain bin game.
I'd love a top-down space-shooter game with a Prowler. The thought of missiles being Little Yellow Lights boggles me with its coolness :)

I have the game and it was about $40 when I bought it new unless you are talking about a different PC game. It has its value only for true die hard collect Everything Farscape fans though. The game itself is very linear.
I think its not quite that expensive anymore Keeper I know in the UK its going for a lot less.
As for trying to create a game from this that would be cool I have tried to download a mod making kit from planetbattlefield which obviously is for Battlefield:1942 but it is only a beta and I an pretty sure it is only for creating single maps, but if you visit the site it has a bunch of mods currently in development.
I know at another forum there was a suggestion to go with modding on either HL2 or UT2k4 which are either not out yet or just on the horizon for release. This would certainly ensure greater longevity to the project but would involve heavy duty 3D modeling and learning of a at least one whole new game engine.
I wish I knew more about modding. I could help with flat schematics possibly but I would have to do a lot more research.

I played it and liked it! Especially the voices from the cast. And it isn´t entirely about shooting the bad ones. You have to protect your own. And you have to complete certain tasks to get what you need. Everyone needs a favour before helping you. I didn´t like the handling, it was sometimes difficult, but then I´m not the most experienced player. Maybe that was the problem. The showdown was very difficult, I had to try it several times. :D :D

The Farscape game's been out for about 2 - 3 years now; it was about $40 at first, it's down to $5 or $10 about everywhere I see it now.
It's a $5 or $10 bargain bin game - it's fun for that much, but $40 is insane. :) $80 is neurotic-collector level ;)

I read a few reviews of it that said it was really lame and shallow, basically little more than a dressed up shoot 'em up game. It didn't have Scorpius, Jool or Grayza in it so I never bothered myself. The game was set in season 1 'scape, pre-Scorpius. My least favorite time in the show.
Best kind of game to do on Farscape I think would be a 1st person shooter with a lot of rpg elements. You could pic a character and play out the storyline from their perspective. Each character would have unique abilities and you could order your friendly characters to do things for you when you needed their special skills. For example if you were Crichton you could tell Chiana to 'pump a guy for information' when you ran out of money. If you were Scorpius you could tell Braca to fetch you your slippers and a cup o' tea.

FPS games are no fun. I'd much more prefer a solid RPG game.
Baldur's Gate / Icewind Dale type of games with a Farscape
setting would be awesome.
But that kind of games takes a lot of work to develop.
Well, I’ll just keep on dreaming about it. hehe

I got the game as well, installed and played for about 30 mins, then the game crashed. poor gameplay, poor graphics and worse programming. I wish I'd never tried it, it's an insult to the scaper community, a cheap rip-off to make a quick buck IMHO. :(

Kiriath - Director is a pretty good program used for making web-based stuff and small games. It's an odd evolution of Flash, but allows for more user participation and interaction, with loads of depth. I've even made a game in it before ( www.geocities.com/djmcbell - follow the link, but you'll need a decent connection).
Basically, a game could be made using Director, but it'd have to be a 2D game of some variety (as far as I know). I'm pretty sure a platformer, overhead shooter, or even an RPG could be developed.
And I'd do it if only I had the time (damn uni work)...

I am one of those weird ones that enjoy both types of games I played Baldur's Gate till my buddy took his disk back ;) which was months (sorry bud) and also like FPS ones for the action. RPG is mainly strategy heavy on the personalities of the show/concept it was based on but they tend to lack when it comes to adrenalin in your face excitement where FPS lack the individual depth of character.

If people are interested in making a space combat simulator with prowlers I'm pretty sure there's a way to make a modification of the current games available right now.
I saw on one of the posts that you can do a modification of Half Life or Battlefield 1942.
Battlefield 1942 is better because people can play online as their favorite characters.
Or do a Battlefield 1942 Farscape Mod featuring Peacekeepers vs Scarrans??? Now that would be cool!!!

At the mo for one of my uni projects I'm making a mod for a quite old-ish PC space game called Freespace 2. I've just figured out how to put ships in, so I'm tempted to put Farscape 1 in there just for the hell of it, as something that just flies by in a level.
But maybe after uni stuff, I could put something together...

I think that they should make a gam using motion capture and video if the show does not get picked up for season 5. This will prevent us from not being left without any Farscape. It should take place after the mini if it was mde in this scenario.

Ghost thank you very much for posting this I will have to check out the Homeworld game now. I know they came out with homeworld 2 some short time ago.
BF:1942 would be a challenge to mod as what I had posted turned out to be a map editor and not a full skin editor. But I agree it would have been drad to blast scarrans and take off in a prowler and swoop down low to smush them! :rollin:

Observations on the voice acting:
"Owwww."
"Damn that hurt."
Rygel's death file is appropriately exaggerated :D
The Scarran's "I See Them" sounds dangerous - and isn't the same Scarran voice we hear all over on the show.
D'Argo pain-file sounds like F--- but is probably an alien growl.
There's a sound called "Generic small thing going boom."
There's a folder called "Pain etc."
The sound files are fun. :)
The Scorvians are hard to explain - but I think it's almost proven that Natira is one. I can imagine her male counterparts sounding the way they do :)
And interestingly, Moya default background music actually sounds like there's a living, breathing, ambient ship in the background.
:)

the character's name is Tegra. He is from a very small planet whotried to resist Scarran invasion. They re great pilots and technical people but not very big or strong. Their endurance is amazing. It takes hours for them to get tired.
Tegra realizes that his commander has lured them into a trap in a space battle. The planet is invaded as the armada is being decimated. Tegra goes back unto the surface to take out Scarran fighters.
His young fiance is in a shelter trying to survive but the roof is starting to shake and crumble. She looks terrified. Tegra is flying through the jungles if this world. He hides his ship in a cavein a lake and swims out.
When he gets to the shelter it has been destroyed completely and there are bodies stacked on one another. Tegara runs with a pulsepitol in hand and starts killing Scarrans. They capture him for questioning.
When put n his cell he meets someone from the show. If you guys are wanting to include characters from the show. If not he meets another character.

A green alien with eyestalks turns carefully toward Tegra, looks again, and its eyestalks lengthen and its eyes twitch.
"You... you're like the girl they brought on board; they finally had to take a tranquiliser to her. I overhead one of them say they're bringing her to a hidden base out in the Uncharted - it beats me why.
"We all have our reasons to leave, but I can't find a way out."

The Keeper

Tegra sighed and leant up against the cold hard wall of his cell.
A million things were rushing through his mind all at once. Plans on how to escape from the evil clutches of the scarren empire, grief over the sight of seeing his one true love's mangled body, lying in a crumpled heap outside the shelter where he thought she'd be safe, and the curiosity and determination to find this peacekeeper women, who the prisoner in the other cell had told him about. She was possibly, other than himself, the only PK operative still alive on his small home planet.
Tegra's mind snapped finally back to the reality of his surroundings in his dark and dank imprisonment, to the sound of two Scarren soilders arguing in the next room.
"The renegade Prisoner..." One of the scarrens said.
Tegra could not hear everything with a hundred percent clarity over the tremendous uproar of gunfire and screams from outside the cell. But nevertheless he listened on intently trying to find any clue to what was going on.
"...Sun captured...male accompniant escaped....small module...sun is being taken....questioning....dreadnaught..."
Tegra stood back with shock. Had he just head correctly? The PK woman that had been captured, was none other than the elustrious renegade PK, Aeryn Sun, famous for her triumphs throughout the universe and her elluding of the peacekeeper empire.

Nice turn but I be Tegra.. aargh! (Thanx for goin ahead and using my turn I wasn't on anyways.) You should make a character. PS- I am an ally to the PK not a Sabecean. He looks a tad different with antannae. Think kinda like the drug dealer from SW Episode II in the night club. Difference is Tegra has ears and yellow and blue circled eyes.
Tegra turns to the green alien and says, " My name is Tegra, I am the last of my house and maybe of my people all together. What is your name?"
