Copying cybergal's post on the Dom, which was a repost of Erpgirl's post from Kansas (er ... hope that's clear ....):

Hey Guys,

I had asked one of our Sydney Fam members a question, the other day, as to where the mini-series was filming (as I had heard two different locations...Fox Studios (where Season 1 was filmed) or Homebush Bay's Waterfront Studios (where Seasons 2 thru 4 were filmed).

Deb is one truly lucky lady, as she has access to the studio, through her work, which is involved in supplying goods to the film industry (I'm not aware of the full details).

Deb has proved in the past that she is extremely trust-worthy and would not pass on information that TPTB would frown upon, but she was kind enough to let me know that they are filming again at Homebush where security for the mini-series is tight.

Quoting part of her message: "They are very security conscious, even the format of the scripts has been changed so that they can't be copied, and all scripts have to be handed back at the end of the shoot, they are even watermarked with the owners name and all. Still, it's nice to see them all working again, and it's great seeing Moya back together. She looks so new and lovely, it's just awesome."

Thought you guys might just like to hear this snippet from someone who's actually seen it.

P.S. - Deb, I know you don't post here, but if you happen to be lurking, I hope you don't mind, but I thought this information would help to keep people's spirits boosted while we wait.

Moya looking new and lovely ... awwwww .... :)

Oh, wow. I think I'm going to cry. I remember crying when I'd heard they'd dismantled the sets, but this is . . . wonderful!

They had to be torn down after four years of use, that was their lifespan. Besides, building sets is expensive, (see the Rockne S. O'Bannon interview in the last Season 1 ADV DVD Disc) and the Jim Henson Company is smart enough not to waste a brand new sets on just four new episodes. :aok:

There's still that rumor of them making a movie after the mini and although I would love to see a fifth season of Farscape, I would would be thrilled to see Ben and the rest of them up on the big screen. :rollin:

Now this is just a theory, but since they seem to be keeping their mouths shut and the tight security on the studios sets, the Jim Henson Company might be able to secertly talk a TV channel, or channels into funding a fifth season of Farscape.

A million here, a million there and you will eventually have enough for a full fifth season.

Pure speculation on my part, but I would think the possibility is more likely since they're filming at Homebush. (I would think it less likely if they were filming at Fox, since I'd assume the purpose-built studios would be in greater demand.)

Guess we'll see eventually. "Good things come to those who wait!" :) ::crosses fingers and toes::

I watched Promises tonight, and got a nice little lump in my throat when Chi talked about how good it was to see Pilot & Moya again...I think the line went like...."kinda like coming home". It was so cool to think that.....they are all home....made me happy...

One curious question I have is how much of Moya has been rebuilt? To do a mini, all they really need is to rebuild the command chamber and some partial sets of Pilot's den and a corridor or two. However, if they are reconstructing the entire sets, including the large hangar area on Moya, then it might signal they do indeed have plans beyond a simple mini.

I thought the larger part of the hanger background was mostly green screen with CGI added.

The maintanence bay was a set, the hanger was green screen. They would also need to build at least one room, and maybe Scorpy's

Doh!

I meant to say maintanence bay but I keep thinking of it as a hangar with Crichton's module and Aeryn's prowler parked inside it.

Hey yeah ... ya know ... if they haven't made an official announcement, and they've rebuilt all the sets, maybe they really are making more than a mini series???? Hmmm something to ponder :)

it is normally but u can tell when it is, lighting etc off and it just looks bad, but most cg shots in farscape are pretty good, so i dont really know..... apart from the main hanger... which i expect to be cg. Anyway i thought the whole point of the mini is to see how many peeps will tune in and if it will be worth continuing the series :)

Yes, Lani Tupu (Crais) does the voice for pilot, and the voice for Rygel is done by Jonathan Hardy.

And Jon happens to bear a striking resemblance to Rygel! :fear: Not in height mind you ... just in facial expressions and the voice of course  but the facial features are uncannily like Rygel.

And then when will it be available for broadcast?
