Not sure how many people have heard, but Wayne Pygram (Mr. Scor "I-wear-leather-because-I-don't-wear-underwear" Pius) has a role in the newest Star Wars movie. It's said that he is going to be playing a character that made their mark in the original tril. The buzz and rumour mill has churned out **spoiler for SW ep3** that he maybe taking up the role of Emperial commander Tarkin from A New Hope. **end spoiler** Here's a link if you care. (http://cgi.theforce.net/theforce/tfn.cgi?storyID=22956)
Now other then getting a Farscape face out to the masses, what does this have to do with Farscape? Thankfully... nothing! There should be no conflicts in filming with the mini save maybe some pick-up shots that will spread out the next few months.
So just incase people didn't know, or if they did know but were worried.

So long as Lucas doesn't get any bright ideas about refilming the Tarkin's shots in a re-release of Episode IV with the new guy in aging make-up. Peter Cushing is irreplacable.
Would love to hear who Wayne is playing in the new films, though... I'm at a loss for any human-looking older characters outside of Tarkin, though.

Wait a second... I just had a thought... how tall is Wayne? Could he be playing Vader? Remember, in the original series, while James Earl Jones provided the voice, the man in the costume was David Prowse. You never see either of their faces, of course. And the guy who plays Anakin at the end of Return of the Jedi is someone else entirely. I assume that if we see Anakin become a masked Vader during Episode III, the kid who plays Anakin won't necessarily play in the Vader costume. It isn't necessary that David Prowse reprise the role - after all, who would know?
At any rate, that's another possibility for Wayne: he might be playing a masked character or an alien that was in the original series... not necessarily a human character, like Tarkin.

I will never watch his movies again. I may not like the two Dr. Who movies that Peter Cushing made... but he is a legend in the Horror Genre.

Well I'm pretty sure that Hayden Christensen will be playing Vader. THey have already done make-up tests for him being all injured and have made it so it matches with the vader in RotJ. They are also doing a lot of double checking to make him vader armour and putting it to scale with the rest of the films. THought it would be cool to see him in such a large role.
I'm actually surprised that theforce.net dropped the ball on the whole Tarkin thing. They're usually pretty dead on. There is a bunch of new characters, especially villians, making light in this Episode, so there is hope that he's one of the larger un-anounced characters. I would love for him to be the new bad guy **spoiler** General Grevious, from report's he's a high armoured bad-ass. **end spoiler** But the rumour mill is harsh and difficult to navagate.
Well I'm going to try and stop posting about Star Wars on the Farscape board now :D

Perfect Tommy, Wayne Pygram said that he was going to play a character from the original episode. Actually he isn't even in the cast list on starwars.com yet, but there are also a couple of people who don't have characters attributed to them in the cast list, like Rohan Nichol and Bruce Spence. I looked all over starwars.com and other places and there are really nothing more than rumors about who will be Tarkin.

Hmm, maybe he will be Lando's man servant from ep V?
Hope not.

Well there is some speculation who is actually playing what. Since I investigated some more and it seems that the Rohan Nichol might just be some fodder to keep people on there toes. I have read that Lucas is actually having multiple actors do make-up test for some characters. This means that there might be actors dressed as characters that they aren't playing in the movie. So untill it's on starwars.com we really have no clue.
Here's for hoping that Wayne gets atleast some lines, if not a few good scenes :)

According to his interview in the February Starlog, Wayne will be playing his Starwars role behind another "rubber face". It sounds like he will be playing another alien! Let's hope it's not Chewbacca... :rollin:

what does this have to do with Farscape?
Aside from this being another cast/crew member of Farscape involved in production of Episode III...I think Wayne would make a great Tarkin! While it may be just as small part, there is alot of similarity in the Scorpious character and Tarkin, that I think Wayne could bring to the screen better then anyone.

Naw, Wayne won't be playing Chewie; but you’re not for off. Wayne Pygram will in fact be playing <drumroll>
Itchy, Chewbaca's father from the star wars holiday special! Muhahahaha :elol: ! In fact the movie won't be much more then Itchy, Chewie, C3p0 and Jar Jar acting like dolts.
Heh, awe man that would be awful, but luckily I doubt that's going to happen. And BTW, if you think the newest SW movies are bad (which I don't) then just watch the holiday special to see how low star wars CAN sink.
I personally think Wayne would make a great Tarken, he already looks like em (look at them cold eyes) and Scorpy almost has his voice; I hope that's who he's going to play.

The Holiday Special is classic. It has Bea Arthur of Golden Girl fame. It was.... explotation at it's best... or was it worst... I always get those two mixed up. You can actually find it on the internet from time to time, but it's been said it will NEVER be released to the general public because, frankly, a kitten dies whenever someone watches it.

indeed it would. I'm really not sure what part he's going to play. BUT... if he is to play a character from the Original Tri, we can be sure he will get some face time ;)
Edit: I nearly forgot!!! The actress that played Natira, a one Claudia Karvan, did play Padme's sister Sola Naberrie in a cut scene in Attack of the Clones. She is now back (and credited on IMDB) for the yet to be titled third film. So the Farscape connection grows!!!!

Okay, IMDB have rohan listed as playing tarkin, so that role is probably out, and I see that there is talk about wayne's role being played behind latex, but...
and throwing this in here to really stir things up, [mainly because I am bored and I can] ..
how about a young? HAN SOLO.
See there I said it.
Harrison Ford is a little old to be reprising his role in any Star Wars film, and he seems to be having a bit of a mid-life crisis at the mo...
[SPOILER...]
But there has always been the back story behind how him and Chewie got together, Chewie saving his life [or was it the other way round..] and the life debt that Chewie owes to Han.
As Chewie appears in this film, why can't Han?
Perfect_Tommy
01-12-2004, 08:43 AM
It's been confirmed that Han is not in the new film.
backstory, not really spoiler here.
Han was an Imperial officer/pilot. Chewie was a slave. Han rescued Chewie. That's where the life debt came from and why Han is now a smuggler.
But I wonder if Claudia and Wayne will ahve a scene together. Would that be nice. She could uhhhmm.... change his cooling rod ;)

Perfect Tommy- I've heard rumors go back and forth on Han being in III on theforce.net boards. I dunno if I want to see a young Han, but if they did throw him into the movie somehow, I figure GL will butcher it like he has the first two prequels.
I just think GL can't get anything right lately. The Prequels, The missing Original Trilogy DVD's and Ultimate DVD's with computer imposed images of prequel actors on old actors. My stomach still churns on that idea.. :loco:

I saw a pic of Rohan Nichol, and I can kind of see him being a young Tarkin, if you take it for granted that Tarkin looked a whole lot "healthier" in his youth. The only thing the official site says about his role is that he will take the role of a "young captain", which could very well be a young Tarkin.
It would still leave the question of who Wayne Pygram would play. Chewie is cast and I couldn't imagine Han Solo being older than a teen, even if he were in this and it looks like he won't be.

Its still possible that Wayne Pygram plays Tarkin, pictures of Tarkin latex mask which makes actor look more like Peter Cushing were seen in TheForce.net, and as we all know, Wayne has much experience in acting behind mask.. And he wouldnt necessarily even need much mask.
Rohan Nichol is also rumored to be playing young captain Antilles, captain of Tantive IV.

I just think GL can't get anything right lately. The Prequels,
I used to be the biggest SW fan, but I think my dismay with the current state of of what GL has done with the franchise is what initially led me to seek out FS...I wanted scifi that was a bit more edgy...There I got us back on the FS topic, happy?

Last night my wife suggested that Wayne could play Admiral Ackbar (ermm.. well, maybe it is Ensign Ackbar since it is a prequel). You wouldn't recognize him, but Ackbar is a character from the original trilogy. Plus, the Cartoon Network "Clone Wars" has a portion of its plot taking place on Ackbar's homeworld, so maybe they plan on "introducing" him in SW III?

Just snurched this from The Force.net (http://theforce.net/jedicouncil/editorials/012304.shtml) but beware this is a SPOILER link.
Joining the prequel veterans in the last installment are notables Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), ILM (General Grievous) Wayne Pygram (Tarkin)
Dunno nwho or what ILM is tho'

I believe this was a joke. This is an article that was written "from the future" (April 2005) as a review of the third SW film. So I think he's just guessing on Wayne Pygram. "ILM" probably means "Industrial Light and Magic", indicating he thinks this is a CGI character.

Considering that Josh is the owner of Theforce.net, and he seems to know most everything star wars related, and he wrote that future review...
I'd say there's at least a better than usual chance of having Wayne turn up as Tarkin.
Of course, that's just my opinion. :P
