TV 'Frankenstein' is in the works

Martin Scorsese and author Dean Koontz have teamed up to make a Frankenstein pilot that could become a weekly series for USA Networks. Koontz is to write the series, and Scorsese is an executive producer. The re-imagined Frankenstein reportedly is set in present-day Seattle, where the good doctor and his creation have thrived, thanks to genetic engineering. A parallel story line follows cops as they investigate the Frankenstein story.

And if we here in the UK are really unlucky then they someone will buy it and show it here. Imagine a world where no-one in TV or films was allowed to use a story that's older then 5 years...hmmm...then again, just think of the (even worse) trash that would be churned out.

Eeek, even more reality TV *passes out...thump*

Any time you run out of ideas, go and dig out the old classics and re-imagine them.

Will this be a weekly where Frankenstein moonlights as a detective?

Will this be a weekly where Frankenstein moonlights as a detective? And there's gotta be a gay robot ... Joel Schumacher says there's always gotta be a gay robot, preferably played by Will Smith or Eddie Murphy...

There's a Hallmark production of 'Frankenstein' (2004) listed on IMDb - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0368730/maindetails but it's got Alec Newman, William Hurt and Julie Delpy in it... but no Scorcese/USA affiliations that I have the patience to scan 20 pages worth of filmography for.
