In a couple of episodes, Zhann comes back but with a... well, new face. Then, in another episode, she comes back with the face we know and love.

Was this intentional, or a make-up mishap? I took it at the time to be Stark's sloppy programming, or perhaps Zhann as he saw her.

Anyone know for sure?

You mean when she was a big fat guy? Or after that when she was her again? She didn't look the same because Virginia Hey shaved her head when she was on the show, but when they brought her back her hair had grown back so they used a bald cap. That being said, I thought the makeup and even her lips didn't quite look right, either.

Zhaan in John Quixote and some of Unrealized Reality (the interviews) had different makeup artists than Seasons 1-3 Zhaan, as well as having a bald cap. (According to Virginia Hey, her original makeup artists were busy applying Zhaan makeup to Rowan Woods (who played Zhaan-the-Man).

The chubby Zhaan was certainly quite eye catching and a marked departure for the character!:rollin:

Gave a new meaning to the phrase "a thin person trying to get out"

From AbFab:

Edina: Inside this body there is a thin person screaming to get out!
Mother: Just the one dear?

The episode in which she looked 'normal' must have been Unrealized Reality, they used footage from the Premiere.

The funny thing is, the fat male Zhaan came from one of the original concepts for the show when it was beginning. If you look at the early production designs for "Farscape", you can see that there is a short, fat male version of Zhaan. You can see such designs in one of the issues of "Farscape" magazine. Forgot which issue.

Ah, I thought it might be another make-up artist, but then when she came back normally I thought that must be wrong and the new look was intentional.

Have to say it: the new look sucked. Ah well :)

Thanks for clearing that up.

I agree...but it was nice to see Zhaan back!
