Well, I finally got around to buying Firefly on DVD and have so far watched the first three episodes. I was hesitant to buy the DVDs for a while since I hadn't actually seen the show when it was on tv and was concerned with buying something and not knowing whether I was going to like it or not. I don't know why I was so hesitant though. I love Buffy and Angel, and I love a lot of space sci fi stories, but I was still hesitant. I never got to see Firefly on tv because I continuously kept forgetting when it came on! But, of course, Fox did a true number on this show, so I'm kind of glad that I'm able to watch it from the beginning and in order with the DVDs for my first time viewing.
Whichever executives at Fox that mismanaged this show should be drug out into the street and beaten with a herd of bratty kids equiped with pool noodles. This show is amazing! The CGI looks great! The acting is wonderful! The characters are complex and intriguing! The plots of the stories are delightful. I thought I might would have a problem with a show that was space meets wild west, but I like it! I like it a lot!

Glad you like it Vacant Look! I really enjoy Firefly. I have come to the conclusion that networks do not know how to handle shows that challenge perceptions. They are at a loss at how market them and who the audience is that they should target.
Ah well, it is good that fans are finally able to make the preferences known without having to be hooked up to Nielson boxes. Starting to make many network executives look very foolish.

I got the box set too and just finished the last three episodes this weekend. Man, I wish it could have continued.

I just entered the world of DVD, bought a DVD recorder, and ordered "Firefly", the complete series. I should get it next week. I've heard nothing but good things about this series, and at least I will get to see the whole thing at my own pace, I had to piece together Farscape, and I still got hooked.
:confused: :aok: :rollin:

I got myself the boxed set for Christmas, and have watched the first three disks. I love it! I'm sad that there are only three more episodes that I haven't seen.
I hope that Firefly continues in some form.

That was sweet of you.
I think my wife might leave me if I become obsessed with one more show.

But if you DO get obsessed with one more show, it would be considerate of you to get obsessed with this one - there are only 13 episodes, so you can't get into too much trouble.

I bought the "Firefhah" set as a present for self when I wrote my Prof. Practice Exam (still waiting for the results), and have been slowly working my way through the commentaries.
It's a shame that only a select few episodes got commentaries. I want more!!! :bounce: :D

Oh Boron, I envy you the white wedding as it were. Enjoy. Make it last. Be aware that if you are like the rest of us Scaper/Browncoat/SciFi addicts.... you may not be able to stop -- but it's OKAY and WE LOVE YOU.
Firefly worked for me......shame on those TPTB...got it wrong yet again.....

<sigh>
I just finished watching the last of the Firefly boxed set last night. That show had a lot of promise and I really enjoyed watching. There was so much Joss Whedon could have done with those characters and that story. It is shame that it was treated poorly and cancelled.
