Winona?

Here's a question that's been on my mind for a bit...
In what episode did John first use or get Winona & how did he come to name her? I've seen most of 'em but can't seem to remember... thanks!

I think he first named his gun in a clockwork nebari, he was telling chiana that winona never jams, then debra harry (lol) walks in and shots them both, after winono...jams

When i first heard john call her winona my first thought was winona ryder. maybe he was a fan, after all he liked buffy:D

So, my only other question is whether he has two or one Winona. When Crichton is doubled in Eat Me he got two Winonas, right? So later when Moya-Crichton gets Talyn-Chrichton's pulse pistol back he has two? But he just wears the one from Talyn-John all the time and the other is a spare?

No. apparently Crichton misplaced Winona before he got twinned. Chiana finds it in the cabinet with D'Argo's qualta blade while D'Argo was undergoing the ummmmm ... ministrations of the feral peacekeeper that he was supposed to breed with. (Although breeding requires an entirely different kind of intimacy... bad Nicola. Bad BAD Nicola. :whip: )

TalynJohn's Winona is the one and only Winona. Winona has symbolic ties to Aeryn, and if you see where Winona is and how Winona functions you usually get a pretty good idea of current state of John's emotional and sexual relationship with Aeryn. (TalynJohn had Winona and also had Aeryn. Talyn stole Winona in GEM, and John nearly lost Aeryn to Talyn's machinations, etc. etc. etc.)

I am not exactly sure when John loses Winona... I just know that when he and Chi are dragging D'Argo's dead body into Pilots Den he doesn't have it. Chi finds it in the cabinet with D'Argo's qualta blade, but she doesn't say "Oh hey, here is Winona" or anything - she just picks it up.

When TalynJohn takes Winona with him on Talyn, MoyaJohn gets all testy and knocks over the chess pieces on the chessboard while having a temper tantrum in "Thanks for Sharing" saying "He took Winona!". Which indicates that there is only one Winona - like there is only one Aeryn.

(The chessboard - another significant symbol in the show. :D )

Heh, never knew about him thinking about that one guy and Scissorhands, but still always thought he was reff'ing Ryder.
