Hello everyone,
I wanted to extend an offer that might be unique to this type of community. Voice Chat.
I know we all love the forums but I want to take us to the next level of communication.
I have a dedicated team speak server that I would like everyone to start using.
Team Speak is a program where you talk into a microphone, and everyone hears you as clear as if you were on the telephone. We use it primarily for games but I thought it would be neat for everyone to hear each other and talk in real time.
http://teamspeak.org go there and download the windows client.
Direct link here: ftp://webpost.teamspeak.org/releases/ts2_client_rc2_2032.exe
Downloading the Client...
To download Teamspeak, go to www.teamspeak.org and get the latest client version. It is free to download and use, so as long as you have a mic and some speakers, you're good to go.
Run the install program.
Once it is installed on your computer, start the programme by double clicking the icon on your desktop. The first step will be to add a new server.
Adding a new server...
Click Connection at the top left of the client, then Connect from the menu that drops down. Right click anywhere in the "Local Addressbook" tab and Add New Server.
Here is the information you will need. Just single left click on the new server you created and fill in the following information:
Lable: WeComeToPlay Farscape
Server Address: 66.98.180.71
Nickname: Your name goes here. I would ask that you put Leppard-Farscape for example. So that we know you're here for Farscape. So just put in Yourname-Farscape
For default channel put in Farscape case sensitive. :)
The rest of the information you should leave blank for now. You will now need to register on the server. Click the Connect button at the bottom right corner. (please note, this first time you will connect Anonomously, but after you register, you will enter your registration info and connect Registered)
You should now be connected to our Teamspeak server. You will be in the default "Unregistered" channel at the top of the channel list, with a "(U)" after your name, or if you put Farscape in the default box, you'll be in the Farscape channel. (U) indicates that you are "Unregistered".
Registering on the Server...
To get registered, you will need one of the System Administrators (SA) to give you permission to register your name on the server. To do this, simply ask someone in the channel to have a SA come to the channel for a moment.
Once you have been granted permission to register, go to the top of the client and click Self and then choose Register with server from the menu that will drop down. It will ask you for your "Login Name" and a "Password". Both of these are private and not even the SA can see them, so be sure to write both down so you do not forget them.
Once you have registered, click Connection at the top left once more, and Disconnect from the menu.
You will now have to update the server information with your registered information so the next time you log on, you will still be registered.
To do this, click Connection at the top left once more, and Connect from the menu. Click the Registered button.
Single left click the server name from the list and update the Login Name and Password with the same information you just used to register. Spelling counts, and remember that it is caSe SenSaTIvE.
Click the Connect button at the bottom right corner to connect to the server once more. From now on, you will only have to choose the server from your list and click the Connect button at the bottom right corner to log on.
Here's a page with some pictures that might help:

I hope you all enjoy it and use this server for better, faster communication.
And the service is brought to you by www.WeComeToPlay.com :)
Let me know if you have any problems or need help.
Cheers!
