X-MEN 2 screenwriting duo Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty have been hired to adapt Orson Scott Card's science fiction novel ENDER'S GAME into a feature film. Harris and Dougherty are adapting the novel for director Wolfgang Petersen who remains attached to the property at Warner Bros.
Peterson was first announced as a director for ENDER'S GAME in May 2002. As he wraps up his work on his next film, TROY, he may make ENDER'S GAME his next project, or he may go back to SUPERMAN VS. BATMAN or a new project, SHUTTER ISLAND, by MYSTIC RIVER author Dennis Lahane.
Harris and Dougherty may script the third X-MEN film but that won't be until after they complete an assignment for Marvel Comics (with X-director Bryan Singer) and until their script for ENDER'S GAME is done.
The project is one close to the heart of one of the writers. "My parents gave me the book when I was a kid, and it is the reason I fell in love with science fiction and is somewhat responsible for what I am doing for a career," said Dan Harris to Variety.

This is a good thing. I think X2 was better than the first X-Men movie, so I think they may do a good job.
