I don't want to sound whiny but I am absolutely dreading going to my next class. It is an advertising design class and the only reason why I am taking it is because it is an elective for my minor. The class is made up of primarily Art majors of Marketing Communcations majors and I feel like the odd guy out. I have been thinking about dropping the class but I would have to meet with my advisor first to fid out if there would be some other way to make up the credits for my minor.

I've had classes like that. I took a writing for the media class thinking it would be about journalism and writing for newspapers, internet, that kind of thing. Instead it was a broadcasting class about how to write scripts for news shows. I was the only non broadcasting major in the class. But I stuck it out and learned a few interesting things, even if I never end up using them in real life.

I took petrology for a week and a half, hated it, and dropped it. My advisor and I worked out a way to still get a geology degree without petrology (very rare) so go talk to him (or her)!

On the other hand, I have taken lots of classes where there weren't any other geology majors and loved them- you might find out you like it :)

There have been a few classes that I have taken that I did not like but stayed in the class. There was a Philosophy of the Arts class that I took and I felt totally out of place in that class and I even got in a fight with another student. I was also in a Surveying class that I did not like but stayed in it and I almost failed. Well, it is time for me to go to my class. :(

I think that I have decided to stay in the class for the semester. Yesterday, I finally figured out how to use Photoshop so maybe I will be working on that new avatar that I have been wanting!

i signed up for the campus newspaper and every semester it is produced by a different class because you can get credit for it, to work with the main staff. i signed up and to my surprise a) i didn't meet the prerequisites in the first place, but the course finder search thing online didn't list them so i got in anyways and b) i was the only freshman, and they could probably tell...but they never said anything and they were all really cool about the whole newspaper thing.

but then as i passed by the communications dept. offices, looking for my advisor, i saw a flyer taped to the door saying that they were opening up a new section of a class i needed to take but couldn't get into cause they have a 16 student limit. so then it all worked out cause i dropped the class i would've felt like an outsider in and signed up for the new class.
