What? What does this mean? Is it good? Please let it be good.
What?
Of course it's good. Sprucing up is always good. Unless I break something, which I'll try very hard to avoid.
Go read the "Site upgrade" announcement.

VB 3?

Change loves you. It wants you to embrace it.
The board's not going to change much. I may add some new hacks for new features and a few new templates for variety, but if this template (Moya brown) is the one you like, it's the one you can keep.
Minor changes boardwise, big changes to the site. It'll be good, I promise.
Much like Pilot, I live to serve.
VB 3?
Possibly, I just updated our site upgrade license, so I'll download the newest version of vB -- 3 is still in beta, I think, but a lot people are successfully using it and there are quite a few new hacks for it. I'll investigate. Unless somebody else here is using it and can give a rec on it?

We have a VB3 test forum set up for the forum that I admin at. We haven't touched it for awhile and will probably wait for the full release. The main problem for us was that a lot of the hacks (at the time we set it up) weren't available. I think we were at least going to wait for the quick reply hack to be made to work with VB3, because that's one of those things that we just need.
The control panel is completely different, especially the style section. I haven't really played around with it much though, so I don't really have an opinion one way or the other yet.
I think that the old styles won't be compatible with VB3 and will have to be redone, but I'm not sure about that one either. ::shrugs::

I like change and I will welcome any change just as long as it isn't a sex change operation.:D
Yeah, I figured 3'd be a big change, it's taken long enough. Well vB3 RC1 (or 3 or some other random number)'s been released so vb.org has let loose the hackers. I'll see if they have anything good. And I've got another site I can guinea pig on.

Haven't y'all learned that Scapers really like to lead a status quo type of life? You should know that we don't like to be taken on some type of "wild ride" just 'cuz TBPTB want to do it.:ewink:

To those who are afraid of/resistant to change:
Change is good. I love change. Evolution occurs in the universe. A society that cannot evolve will collapse. Oh yeah. What's that one about the oak resists the wind and breaks, the willow adapts and survives? Or how about no whining just shut up and deal with it? :rollin:

Whoa, I missed the company memo on this one. When I entered the site, all the forums were different and I wondered if I had gotten lost in some unrealized reality. But so far it looks good. I like the change. :aok:

I can adjust the number of smilies posts can have. If it's a problem we can dial the number down.
grinner

I thought it was already dialed down. That you couldn't have 30 or so smilies on a page at a time.

Stopped here before reading the instructions, naturally.
Hurray! Thank you, thank you for the font-size increase.
Did I hear something about changing backgrounds? You mean I can change background colors in a post? Ooooh! -- OK, so I'm easily entertained.
Off to read the update memo. (RTFM, dude.)
Gotta post here more often. People know me from Kansas; a few may remember me from the Dom. Gotta confuse the rest of y'all.

Version 3 is much better and much more customizable then version 2.
That said the beta version is a stable version and I've run it on other sites. In fact going to migrate www.WeComeToPlay.com , my site, to version 3 very soon. The only thing that held us back was a good solid portal that we could integrate into it and I think we found one.
You will love version 3 :)
