I almost did the dumbest thing today! I was driving down to school this morning and it had snowed a little bit overnight. There are two ways that I usually take down to school. One route is more curvy and hilly and goes through fewer towns and is the fastest way for me to go but road conditions vary during the Winter. The other way is slower and goes through more towns but conditions are usually better than the other road during Winter. This morning I decided to go the slower routeand everyhting was going fine until I reached a curve in the road. I had been driving too fast and all of the sudden, the rear end of my car started to spin out and pretty soon I was traveling sideways in the roadway. There was a car behind me so I thought that I was going to get hit. I also thought that I was going to enter the ditch as I got extremely close to the edge of the roadway. Needless to say, I was able to correct myself and I stayed on the road and the car behind me slowed down and didn't hit me. I was shaking so much afterwards but I was so happy that I was able to make it out of that difficult situation.:woohoo:

And that is why it is a good idea to carry clean underwear in your glove compartment.

Driving is, after all, a full-contact sport in some places!

Glad to hear you are okay! My ma spun out last night, but no accident.

Glad to hear you're ok. I nearly wrecked my mom's truck on ice the other day. She had me drive because she was nervous about the roads. She kept nagging me to hit the brakes and check the roads. I waited till there was nobody coming down the highway, and touched my brakes. I was fine until I had a dumb attack and started to speed up again. I barely kept us from going into the ditch. We crossed the highway, back on to our side, and stopped facing the direction we had just come from....we decided to go home.

I will go slower from now on.......when road conditions call for it. When I drove by the spot where it happened, I made sure to go slow enough so it wouldn't happen again.

My mom and I did a 360 last week when coming up on an intersection where we had to turn. Thank goodness no-one was around! Yesterday, two deer ran out in front of us at the same intersection. Neither one of us likes that intersection anymore!

It sounds like that intersection has a vendetta against you!:D

I'm beginning to wonder! At least we aren't the only ones! My dad and one of my friends have also had deer encounters at the same intersection in the past month. No one has hit anything, but I guess my dad's encounter has pretty close!
