I've watched it a few times already and I must say it never fails to crack me up! LMAO :D I've heard through other Farscape fans that they didn't necessarily like this episode. Why?

SNS IS ONE OF MY FAVE EP. don't know why others don't care for it....I think it is hilarious.

I love SnS it's great I don't know if my mom much cared for it though...

best scenes

the window jirly scream... I love that scream :rollin: "I am dressed"

"he he's got brains(D'argo) but you, now you, you're a bit of an idiot(John)." and Raxil calling John an idiot is also my keepership in the Mad Hatters

"not talkin' bout the window"

I don't beleve you too many inconsistancys ...too much obfuscation "
"OBFUSCATION, how the hell does that translate?!"

funny because it's a word in english that means to make dark or unclear... I have it written down somewhere. I realy love that ep

I have to agree that this is one of my all time FS favs. The scream ::wiping tears as I write::
I can't understand why anyone wouldn't like this ep.

It's pretty heavy though in some places. I LOVE it now, but the first time I watched it, I was uncomfortable with the freslin (drug use) and the machine they used to get it. (Pretty...erotic looking.) It balances it all out nicely with the John & D'argo stuff, but if you're looking at it for the first time, might be a little heavy on the other stuff. :dunno:

I loved the ep especially the cracked-out after-party that Jool and Chiana were at. Reminded me of a few that I have been to.

ROTFL :D

I crack up every time when the girls ask D'argo and Crichton if they're "a couple" and both of them are like "NOOOOOO!" Then D'argo is bragging about how much "cash" he has in his pockets. LMFAO :D

But my all time fav is Crichton in window and that girly scream! :signlol:

"SHE TOOK MY PULSE PISTOL!"

It was when he was telling the two chicks that he was a full blooded luxan and that he had enough cash for the both of them...I use to use that line as part of a sig when the Ultmate site was up. It still may be there. I don't know....but I can't word for word, I'd have to look up a trascript.

Yeah, I love SnS too. It was a great ep. Loved all of Pilot's little interruptions. And John's scream is priceless. And some of the best Crichton/D'Argo banter in the series.

LMAO :D

That was so funny when D'argo was viewing what happened in the club and saw the guy coming on to Chiana.

"You bastard!"

Then before that when they wake up in the window and John is going on about the "rainbow coalition rolling them". ROFL

The dark side of this eppy didn't both me, either. Why doesn't it surprise me that on a far away planet there was this scummy guy manufacturing a drug and using it to lure women to do what he wanted. There are guys just like him on this planet. Just different drugs. Anyway, I don't think the episode glamourized or made light of drug use in any way. So I never understood why people were upset by it.

Twich

I'm not sure that it was glamorization that bothered some people...I think it was just the graphic nature of watching the milking room...watching women being "tortured" and then being auctioned off.

I do love this ep...just trying to point out what might have been uncomfortable for some.

Violence is always disturbing as it should be. But that aspect didn't ruin the eppy for me. The violence was somewhat disturbing, yes, but not because women were being tortured. I would've felt the same had it been men.

When violence ceases to disturb people, then there are problems. I was disturbed by many things in this episode and I am glad for it. I like to get disturbed, challenged, righted, and wronged. There's a difference than endorsing it.

I have to agree with all of you, this is one of the funniest eps.. It's always nice to see D'argo and John going back and forth LOL. Definately a different spin compared to other episodes with the entire "drug" problem. Then the entire auctioning off of the women. Then lets not forget the method of surveillance. XD

This was one of Farscape's funniest ep's. Yes, for all those out there who've never been to a party where anything, and I do mean anything, goes, they'd be put off by it.

The drug scenes were a bit disturbing, to the uninitiated. But, no worse than some of the low-lifes here on planet Erp.

For me, the John/D'Argo stuff, with the lounge music in the background in the last scene, hilarious. I also loved the way the ep' was edited. Just like it would be if someone, still half out of it, is trying to describe a really, REALLY, wild party to someone who's stone straight.

This is my fav FS ep.

It cracks me up constantly: John's white boy dancing, the window (!), pushing around Raxil, the sceens with Pilot...

I read a review that criticised it as style over substance; in my opinion that reviewer completly missed the boat. I think the use of the glam treatment only helped to underscore the darker elements of it.

How many times have you been at the greatest party only to realize the next day that it wasn't quite all that? I totally felt their hangover, man!

Just watched it for the first time and thought this was an *amazing* episode! Funny, trippy and creatively directed/edited. I love something that breaks up the "normal" flow and goes somewhere totally different...and the down the rabbit hole style of this ep works perfectly with the drug plotline.

The music was gold, it was great, it was a brilliant stroke to adding the real feeling behind this crazy episode. By the way, totally OT but TalynLives, whenever I read your posts, I'm seeing your avatar and I imagine Aeryn from JQ's accent. :rollin: Sorry, I had to get that out, eventually.

Three words: Pilot being assertive

The word "edgy" comes mind. I am so sick of that word! I hope it falls out of fashion reeeelly soon.

I love this ep, too, for all the reasons everyone has already mentioned. I can see how some might be put off, but come on boys and girls. This has always been a show for grownups, and sometimes growunps engage in some questionable - not to mention - unsavory behavior. And TPTB always said they were constantly trying to push the envelope.

I loved the juxtaposition of hilariously funny and skeevy/scary. So-Much-For-Sanity is right about going to what seems like a terrific party and realizing oops! it's not that great after all. It's cool though that the series has gotten to the point where the guys could act like total jerks and we could accept it. I so love that they all do dopey things from time to time, just like the rest of us. And I love how Pilot bawled them out.

And besides everything else, don't you just love Francesca? Her range is frelling awesome!

Word. She did a fantastic job in all of her "guesties," but Raxil and Ahkna are my favorites. And having Raxil question John's intelligence...priceless!

I busted a gut watching this episode. I think the milking scene was supposed to be over the top since it was (at least partially) John's imagination and Pilot didn't even believe it. I think it was kinda supposed to be erotic (hey, there are people who find toenail clippings sexy - its a weird world).

I do agree, the banter between J and Big D in this episode was a great reprieve from the brooding feel though most of season 3.

I don't know how many times I've watched this episode (I used to watch the original series twice on Friday nights-both showings-then have seen the whole series again with new people, then the rerunning of the whole series, etc etc), but I'm always amazed to see SOMETHING NEW I NEVER NOTICED BEFORE, in episodes I've seen so many times. So here's something from SNS--remember when Chiana asks John, how's your neck? And there's nothing wrong with his neck--this is after he's rescued her in the milking room--then he gets in the fight and the guy HURTS HIS NECK--So this is one of Chiana's first "future flashes"--kind of a throwaway that doesn't get noticed by anyone.

Right, and how Chi goes "You don't want these broken," and takes the night vision lens off John's right eye, and seconds later he gets punched by Fe'Tor in the right eye.

I would love to see their original version of the ep, shot in normal linear format. It probably sucked since they changed it, but still would love a look. I can't imagine the ep without John relaying the story to Pilot. Their interaction is one of my favorite parts.

I, too would love to have seen this one straight, just to see what a difference editing can make. Basically, that's what TPTB said they did - they didn't really re-film anything - just re-edited it & probably did extra ADR work.

I think on the DVD they said something about adding the Pilot stuff after the fact. I'll have to check. It turned out to be a classic episode.

But I'm sure wardrobe got Ben his very own undies for the show. Whether he got to keep them, well that's another matter...

The episode has one of Farscape's greatest moments. John standing in the store window wearing the pantyhose or whatever it was, with everyone looking at him. Bizarre, hysterical, and completely off beat, even for this show. Priceless.

Plus, it's just got great lines with great delivery. John's line asking where his pulse pistol was, the obfuscation line, all the scenes with that hammerhead alien, Pilot's great dialogue, and the final scene with D'Argo and Crichton. "What are you a girl? I have to open the door for you?"

How can anyone not like this ep?

One of my personal favorite moments is in the beginning where the two alien chicks ask D'Argo and Crichton if they're a couple. And John's sheepish narration: "We never did get their names."
