hey dudes,
i want ed to ask are the nebari such as chiana supposed to look blue on my tv (even though they are described as gray skinned)? or is just that my tv is broked? anyway thanks.

on my TV when the first season aired They looked Green :lol

Their blood is blue...that's all I got. They always look grey to me.

As an aside...why do people always use the pic that Buddha posted? No offense, oh wise one, but I hate that pic of Chiana. I much prefer her fourth season look. Grrr. :D

It's also possible that there's nothing wrong with your tv.

If you look at some of the screencaps you'll notice alot of different colored light filters are used during filming. :colors:

Grrr. :D I have about 2,000 Farscape graphics large enough to use in a slide-show screen saver... that graphic was the one with the most skin showing while yet fitting under the size limit for posting.

Moroever, there really aren't that many high quality photos of season 4 pip out there. Just screen caps. Here's a still that I cropped down, though, from season 4.

Folks in the makeup department have stated the Nebari are white. It's the lighting on set that makes them appear either grey or blue.

That way they bring out Chiana's colar bones, facial features, etc, with shading - to make her more erotic, I would think.

And she WOULD look like any color lighting she was under.

I always thought of Chiana as an exotic black & white photograph come to life in a world of color.

Reading here I was wondering if anyone would get around to the truth and I am glad I finally read it here.

Over the years this question has been raised and I thought it rather bizarre that even in some episodes Chi and other Nebari are called grey skinned and wondered if this was an oversite by the writers or were the people in makeup truely colorblind? I have always been one the believe what I have believed from the beginning, Nebari were always white and the lighting on the set made them appear, grey of blue and if the writers called them grey, it was an oversite :confused:

Since Chiana/Gigi was and is the main reason I got into Farscape I have refused to believe anything else.

PS as for the different looks of Chiana, it is all about the hair. I liked season one and season four, in between the hours of time for her makeup was changed to try and shorten Gigi's time in the chair. The hair in season 1 got into her eyes and those dark contacts which probably lead to the changing wigs, however in season four they wanted to get back to that edgey (I think there is a pun there somewhere) look of Chiana in season 1, thus the new wig, hair in the eyes and her new contacts allowing her to see more than just shadows.

I am hoping they keep the season 4 look in the 4 hr mini because as I typed this, I think I started to like it even more (the pictures above help also)
