Why didn't Crais kill Xhalax(sp) when he had the chance? He knew she would come after them, Aeryn knew it, too. Did he just not have the heart to kill her no matter how despicable she was?
On another note, I loved it when John was pretending to be gettin' it on with Aeryn to drive Rygel up the wall. LOL. That was a pretty steamy scene until they got interrupted. ;)

I think he explains it later on....but I don't remember why he says. I think it's in "The Choice," maybe...sorry! :D :dunno:

well John thought it was because he made a deal with her to let her have Talyn and John and get Him and Aeryn back to their PK dutys... But I think it was a deal so she would say he was dead or somthing scence they would just send another and another Retreval squad after them untill they were captured... But all of that is from memory of them the last time they aired six or seven months ago

Umm...thanks. I hope someone knows for sure whether it's in "The Choice". I don't want to have to watch it if I don't have to because that's such a sad eppy to watch and it just breaks my heart.

I think that's right because it's the only other one where they knew Xhalix was alive... well crais knew

i'm having a little trouble following the line of questioning here, but if the confusion is over the next apearance of Xalax Sun, then it is indeed in the episode "the choice".
BTW prepare yourself for the sadest, waterworks inducing episode so far. For those of you unaware that claudia black is the greatest actress in Sci-fi, here's a big visual FYI. And those that do . . . well, prepare to have the bar raised once again.
I was greatly touched by this ep, let's just say I don't think I could watch it again so soon, it takes a lot out of you after it's over.

I believe the question is why in "Relativity" didn't Crais kill Xalax when he had the chance? I said that I think it is explained in "The Choice," but I'm not sure. JrMissToughChick agrees with me. :) I get confused all the time! Hope this clears it up for ya! :)

Thanks for the responses. I'll have to go back and watch "The Choice" again, though, it drained me emotionally when I last watched it. (Back-to-back with IP-2 and that death scene definitely calls the box of tissues)!
Thanks to Claudia Black for nailing that episode.

amen to that
In "The Choice" Crais says that if he had just killed Xhalax, PK Command would just send another squad to come after them. He told Xhalax that he would spare her life if she went back claiming that her mission was a success. I assume that the PKs believed her because I don't think we see another squad again. Xhalax, however, wants to take out her daughter and pretty much goes renengade.

Thanks! That clears it up. I had been wondering why her mother became a renegade. Sheesh! Her mom could've let things be after telling High Command that the mission was a success, but she just had to go along with her PK training -- even when it meant hunting her daughter down and killing her. How cold-blooded is that. Yep, Aeryn did the right thing letting her fall off that building. There was nothing worth saving and I think Aeryn came to that realization, as well.

I don't think Xhalax went after Aeryn in The Choice because of her PK training. I think it was much more complicated than that.
Aeryn was the reason that Xhalax had to kill Talyn (her lover - not the ship). After that, Xhalax became an assassin and killed over and over until it didn't matter anymore. Years of that tortured life.
Then finally she comes face to face with the daughter for whom she sacrificed her lover, and she can't bear the pain. The rememberance of what she risked and what she lost. So she strikes out at her.
I don't think Xhalax ever meant to kill Aeryn - she was setting it up so that Aeryn would kill her and then have to live with the consequences.
Much like what Xhalax had to do after she killed Talyn.
When Aeryn let her mother fall, it wasn't because Aeryn wanted Xhalax to die, or didn't see anything worth saving. It was because Xhalax wanted to end the pain. To end her tortured and twisted existence, and Aeryn couldn't help her any other way.
Very complicated and painful episode.

claudia black is the greatest actress in Sci-fi
No truer words spoken in any thread anywhere. There are too many instances to point out. Just the conversations with Talyn should prove it. Claudia is the top of the heap in the television actress category.
Note: You should agree with this. If you do not, please seek professional help immediately.

I have to agree with FenjaH- Claudia is the best thing in Farscape and any episode such as The Choice where she carries the main story elevates it above all the others.
