As a season a season finale, what did everyone think of it? I saw it last night and was a little let down by it in comparison to the finales of S2, S3 and of course "Bad Timing". It was an action packed episode, though, with the intro of Scorpy and his finding out that worm hole technology is locked away in Crichton's brain. Gotta love kick-ass commando Aeryn. She was going down to the Gammat Base by herself if she had to and nobody was going to stop her. I haven't made up my mind if she was in love him at that point whether she admitted it to herself or not, but one thing is for certain she and John would go to hell and back for each other.
With the above said, the ending with Gilina (sp) and Crichton sort of left me luke warm. Eh! It wasn't a cliffhanger episode like the coming seasons. But it did leave the viewer with some questions to ponder -- like what did Scorpy have in store for Crichton because he wasn't going to just leave him be knowing he had worm hole knowledge. Gilina posed the question as to whether he was in love with Aeryn. She even posed the question to Aeryn. One could only speculate at the time this eppy aired that they were in love with each other. There would've been the nagging question as whether it was purely physical between them in AHR a few episodes prior. However, after I reached the end of Hidden Memory, I wondered had I watched it back in S1 would I have been compelled to continue watching when the show returned in S2. I can say without a doubt that I would've been chomping at the bit after Die Me Dichotomy to see SOD. But with the S1 finale, I'm not so sure, unless of course I came across a spoiler (yeah, I'm a spoiler ho) that really enticed me.
A final question, what was everyone's reaction to Gilina when she was introduced to the show?

I can tell you that "Hidden Memory" is not the S1 season finale, there is still "Bone to be Wild" and "Family Ties" with the latter being the S1 finale. This is a link given to me, very useful, click on the "Episode Guide" link. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/farscape/)
As far as when they were in love, well, that is another part of the SciFi draw, this romance. I don't think you can really pin point it. When PK tech girl aired, I felt there was some jealousy by Ayren and that was ep 7. Once you watch the whole series you go back knowing what the story is and all the early eps work so well with the whole story. I think at the very least there was attraction by John toward Ayren in the premiere.

Ummm. Chi27... Hidden Memory isn't the season finale of Season One. Family Ties is the Season Finale.
In fact, you have Bone to be Wild and THEN Family Ties. You are two episodes early!

To your question: I liked Gilina very much. And I was so prepared to despise her. It is a credit to the writers and the actress that they were able to create such a likeable character when I had such a bad initial attittude. I was very sorry when she died.

Thanks for that link. I find it odd that on the DVDs, I,ET comes after the "Premiere". I'm looking forward to watching "Family Matters."

Yeah, I read here on the boards that I, ET was actually the second ep after the premire, but SciFi felt it was too weak of an ep to follow the premire. A lot of people seem to have agreed with that decision. I, ET really did not add anything to the story except to give John time to adjust to this new universe, of which he knew nothing about and seems to be inept in. And of course the irony of being the alien was nice in that it helps reinforce that John is infact unique in this part of space among other "aliens" :)

Yeah, I, ET wasn't a strong episode, but I'll give them credit in that it was only thier second, and everyone was still pretty new to thier roles, the themes, and the storyline in general. They pulled it together quite nicely by the third episode.

Ok, thanks to everyone pointing out that I had my episodes out of order. I saw "Family Ties" last night.
Can I just say that it had me on the edge of my seat all the way up to the end and then... it left us with D'Argo and Crichton floating out there in space.
It did answer a lot of questions for me about how Crais came to commandeer Talyn in the subsequent seasons, though I think it was mentioned in passing in a later episode. We also see just how evil Scorpy is.
Gotta say that I loved kick-ass Aeryn in this eppy, also. I especially liked that visual of all of them with their guns trained on Rygel and Crais after they had fled the command carrier and came on board Moya. Crais definitely got his when D'argo gave him a good old fashioned ass kickin'. LMAO :D
But one thing, I must've missed is why didn't D'argo have oxygen supply when they escaped from the transport pod before it blew? Crichton had his, but what about D'argo?
I think that 2nd was a good place for "I, ET". In the episode, Crichton is still very very new (as opposed to the just very new he is later) and the way the characters interact is still not as warm as it later becomes. It still has the feeling of a new series.
D'Argo did not have an oxygen mask because Luxans can survive in space for about 15 minutes and still come back. It happened to him in "They've Got a Secret" so they did it again, hoping that Aeryn would be able to pick them up before D'Argo died.
