Where did stark go after the Gammak base? I finnaly convinced my dad to watch farscape this weekend & we watched the best of season one. While we were watching Family Ties he asked where Stark was & I had no idea. He was in The Hidden Memory then he was gone. Does anyone know where he went?

I personally feel he decided to get out and travel a bit, since he had been Scorpy’s whippin’ boy for two cycles, and a slave before that. I figure he just wanted to get out and breathe free air again. What the specifics were regarding his adventures doesn’t really matter. We Scapers can come up with any number of scenarios for when characters are not onscreen – which brings me to my answer – Only TPTB know for sure, and does it really matter? What do you think he was doing?;)

Yeah, I did not notice this disappearance during the regular run of the series, I did however notice it while watching the DVD's. He returns in season two in the locket, with a very brief explanation. He borrows one of Moya's transports and takes off, he later returns the pod and cares news for D'Argo.

But how did he get away, they all trapped in the asteroid field. I did not think there was anyplace to go, or anyway to get there.

From what I understand, they gave him a Transport pod to use and he left just before Moya went into the asteroids. When he returns in "The Locket" he has returned the pod.

I don't know where he went, but during the origanal time nerve aired I rememver being mad at the idea that they were adding another crew member, I thought it would ruin the cemistrey that was present... But starks great I'm glad he came back in season two though :):)

I think they gave him a transport pod. Stark had been locked up for over two cycles so he probably had a lot he wanted to do once he was finally free. Some of this is hinted at later on, but there is a lot of mystery surrounding Stark and his long abscences that is never fully explained. Stark is a great character, but I wish they would go more into his background and his race.

The fact that they are constantly adding members and taking some out, is great, because it prevents the kind of perverse... almost inbred feeling you get in other shows (something like Friends)

It was strange alright that they didn't mention him leaving at the start. I just thought he was really anti-social, staying locked up in his quarters while everyone else is running around the ship fighting :)

I know he left, but if they mentioned it at all, it was just briefly in a small snippet of conversation while other things were happening.

Stark reminds me of a guy named "Shadow" from an old game called "Final Fantasy 6". He sort've... well he's sort've there, then he isn't.

I think bottom line, he wasn't envolved with the lives of the crew at this point. He left to do his own thing, Scorpy was focused on getting John back. It was when he returned the pod in Season 2, along with info for D'Argo, that he "connected" with our crew.

Oh, yeah, I remember that game. Stark does seem to be that way. We know almost nothing about his past and yet he disappears and doesn't bother to explain where he left or why. It always seemed strange to me because Stark acts so needy when he's around the rest of the crew, and then he goes off by himself when it seems more like he's the kind of person who needs to be around others. I never thought of him as much of a loner by choice but more as someone who keeps getting pushed in the corners by other people. Maybe all that time alone in his cell made it hard for him to join up with others and share in thier lives.

I totally agree. And the fact that the Shadow character was a real loner by nature sort've makes a stark contrast (no pun intended) between them. I think ultimately he had just spent too much time in that cell.

When watching the show in order you actually get the impression at first that they rescue stark and off he goes on his own. You don't know or even get the impression at the time that he is going to be a regular cast member.
