Another Nerve question? [spoilers for 1.19]

When Gilina was asking Chiana about whether Crichton was in love with Aeryn or there was something more to them, did anyone get the feeling that Chiana wasn't being completely honest when she said something to the effect that Crichton only had feelings for Gilina. I forget what Chiana's actual line was at the time. It sounded more like Chiana said that to ensure that Gilina continued to help them rather than really believing it.

Yeah... Chiana was going to do everything she could to insure Gillina's cooperation. At that point Chiana was only starting to grasp the concept of people helping others for no clear gain on their part. If she told the truth, as she understood it, then in her mind she'd be taking Gillina's motivation to help away and would risk Crichton and herself.

That's a very good analogy. I hadn't thought of it exactly in those terms. I guess I'm a little jaded because if I was in Chiana's shoes, I would've said the same thing -- even if I had been witness to J&A christening every room on Moya. :rollin:

IMO, Gilina would've still helped them even if Chiana had confirmed her worst fear.
