I'm the only one in my house that watches farscape. Even my brother , who's in to scifi never shows an interest . I go on and on about the different shows and all he says is oh that sounds cool. This from a guy who use to go to Star trek conventions and have his picture taken with the stars. All of you out there are extreme fans of FARSCAPE! , I have to believe that you agree that it's as good if not better then Star trek. I've never been to a convention for FARSCAPE I'm sure it's wild , I'd most likely lose my mind!! What's it like? Stupid qwestion? right ! I would like to know if there would ever be one in my area. Hey since I babbling, did any of you whatch LEXX. A long time ago , when I thought SCIFI had any good taste , my best night was LEXX and FARSCAPE back to back.

So am I ! I get so caught up in it that I feel like I'd like to be right there on moya when when the last moment of the show ends and just keep on going. I don't know why John even want's to come back to earth. One of the things about the show is that I even share a the feeling for moya it's great the way she cares for all of them and I get a feeling she has a very soft spot for John. And the trekkies arn't anoying their in to their zone and lats cool! I hope that we get to see this crew reuited and that the show is at least given a more then deserved ending or carried on .

Yeah but the called me anoying :rollin:
Let me fix that statment I could tell someone what happend and the names off all the minor people involved a week after watching an ep for the first and only time... I can do that with farscape as well and I have recently been telling people about B5 eps I watched five years ago... if anything I think I just have a good memory ;)

I've got all Scapers in the house but not as dedicated as myself though. Have you tried to get your family to sit down and watch an episode especially with the brother who likes Sci-fi? Pick a really good episode and show it to them that's what I did. My family were nonscapers at one time. Get'em hooked.
My family were like your brother at first esp. my husband then it took time to get them hooked. I know another person on this message board scaped their mother and got her to watch some episodes. They posted on here a short while ago. Don't know if you read about it.

I'm the only scaper in the house, but I have suceeded in getting my wife and middle daughter (14 year old) interested. We watch episodes occasionally, but are still in the first season. Durka returns (with the introduction of Chiana!) is next in line. They haven't even met Scorpius yet. Unfortunately our 17 year old daughter has decided she has no interset in Farscape, sight unseen. This is a matter of not wanting to like what Mom and Dad like, since there is no way that could have ANY chance of being cool. This attitude is not open to any kind of rational discussion. My four year old daughter hangs out with us sometimes, but doesn't watch. My 19 year old daughter has shown some interest, but is away in Boston at college, so the scaping oppurtunities are limited.

I used to be a huge ST:TNG fan, back in the day. It's still ok but I wouldn't call myself a trekkie.
The problem?
I grew up and realized that life is never that perfect and together, towards the end of the season and with the movies I always wanted to characters to take their situations futher and really respond to their environment. However, with Farscape, I never have to yearn for it, most of the time they get there before me! :D

Oh ya, the relevant point I wanted to make was:
Friends were staying over and I just popped in LATP while we were working in the kitchen and starting our day. My anti-scifi/fantasy friend was there and got into it enough to:
1. Sit and watch the whole trilogy
2. Respected it and saw the underlying brilliance
I doubt she will ever independantly watch an ep, though.

The only scifi type show i was ever into as much as im into farscape was (don't laugh) transformers Beast Wars, around season 1.5 (first season was twice as long as the other 2). IF any of you watched the original series than I highly suggest watching the pilot and then skipping to the middle of season 1 and going from there. It was actually written by good scifi writers, not cartoon writers, and had an excellent and compelling plot (and characters) as well as a cliffhanger ending that rivaled anything in farscape (NO you say, yep. And granted its never as mature as farscape or nearly as sexy, but it is mature for a cartoon.) I never went to the cons cause theyve been outside socal since i had a license, but then again i havent ever been to a scaper con either.

I'm the only scaper in my family because I'm the only one who actively watches Scifi. Now my brother likes fantasy and nearly drove me insane begging me to see Return of the King (having the table turned is NOT fun) but while he LOVED Donnie Darko, he still hasn't come around with Farscape. He likes a few episodes here and there, and may even watch it if he's bored, but ultimately, he is immune, as is the rest of my family. Sadly, my sister's interest in scifi extends only to the X-Files, and my mother has heard so much about the show through emails that I'm sure she couldn't sit through one episode. My dad has seen the show and he doesn't like John Crichton (among other things). In fact, he is happy to stand around with a female friend and discuss and how unattractive BB is, IN MY PRESENCE no less. Needless to say, I was not happy. :whip:
However, he redeemed himself by complimenting CB on her acting in Prayer (as AerynPip about to be shot) and that means something coming from him, so its cool. For now.
By the way, I was once a strong Trek fan, but think Farscape, Buffy, Angel and a butt load of anime murdered that passion with a sledgehammer and buried in the backyard of my mind. I DID go to a ST convention a long while back though. It was seriously boring but the Gargoyles trailer was fun.

I'm the only scaper in my family. I've tried to get the rest interested, but they just aren't big enough science fiction fans to want to watch. My mom and brother don't like to watch tv much anyway, so its almost impossible to get them to sit down to an episode of Farscape.

I'd be more worried if he DID find BB attractive. :lech:
Seriously, though, it sounds like the other folks in your family are more interested in "safe" science fiction. You know, the kind where you know sticking to the tried and true formulae and never delivering a real surprise, flawed good guys or complex bad guys.

Yeah, even if he (my dad being the only one besides me who watches scifi on TV) complains how uninspired scifi shows are. Actually, I think his true beef with Farscape is the fact that it is not a british comedy. Too many American pop culture references put him off.
