Yes I have favorites but I decided after listing several not to do so ;)

Do you mean: "Do you think your screen name is unbearably cool" or "I'm so famous/infamous online that everyone knows me".

DRD2001
04-07-2004, 05:46 AM
I'm not sure what I would have to brag about either way.

NebariNookiee
04-07-2004, 07:08 AM
My screen name is meant to indicate that I'd do it all for the nookie(e) -- nothing more.:D

So you could take that cookie?

Confused about the question, but the answer is no.

I named my screen-self after one of my cats. I think she was the coolest cat ever, but don't expect anyone else to make that connection.

I don't know what you mean. It's just a name.

vikingscaper
04-07-2004, 11:08 AM
Hmmm..... do I have bragging rights just because of my screen name? Yes and no. Yes because I am a Scaper. No because the Vikings have never won anything.

04-07-2004, 11:24 AM
um...I don't know what that means, so....three.

Have you ever seen a Jellyfish bragging? http://www.freeadpower.org/~mrsmiles/otn/confused/shrug03.gif

Shipscat

Along these lines...do screen names give you an idea of what people are like before you get to know them? Likes, dislikes, gender, age, etc? Or do they not influence what you think of them at all?

(because no, I've never seen a jellyfish brag, and wouldn't expect to. :) )

NYPinTA

I can tell that a lot of people on this board like cats. :D

Selena

screennames makes one jump to conclusions.
For the longest time I thought that Stellar was a female :fear: when I found out I was wrong!
I always think of g_s as looking like Scorpy Statler :lol but he's nothing like his avatar and he sure isn't generic.
Scoop Trubador was as cool as his name suggested http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung0903/spezial/Fool/wink.gif
Akimbo was totally unlike I imagined her to be.
Midnight27 is actually a tall thin redhead (PK Barbie)
AFD is not my idea of what Arthur Dent from HHGTG brings to mind
NebariNookiee is really cute as is grinner who had a skeletal mask for an avatar for so long.
I on th other hand look more like my avatar every day.
I could go on .....

Actually what it made me think of was someone who could fix anything and was great at multi-tasking.

I picked my handle out of an astronomy book, and it's apparently quite popular. I was able to get it here and my spam account, but most of the time I have to add stuff to the end of it because someone else beat me to it. So, I guess mine is just too common to have bragging rights!

It makes my poor lil brain say No, Stars, you will NOT write Scorpy/John slash!fic... :elol:

I blame it on John's bowtie...it looks ever-so-slightly askew, and makes me wonder what they've been up to...

Finally, an opportunity to ask a burning question...

Shipscat, have you ever read the SKitty stories in the Catfantastic books?

Frellster
04-07-2004, 07:17 PM
Hmmmm? I didn't really put alot of thought into my screen name. Still, I like it fine.

Lookin' a little anorexic, there, abbadon.

And no, Mrelia, I haven't, although I obviously need to. Someone mentioned those to me before.

Imagine how useful a really smart kitty with "hands" could be in keeping pests off a merchant spaceship. And if one just happened to have a little mutation that allowed for telepathy with her handler...

Kahntahmp
04-10-2004, 03:56 AM
As for my screen name, it's a joke I started playing ST:TNG RPG.

Kahntahmp was an orphaned Cardassian warrior. Now on Cardassia, family is everything, so Kahntahmp was a nobody as far as they saw him. Angered by this, he left the Cardassian fleet and joinned Starfleet, where he hoped to achieve the one thing no other Cardassian could claim: Federation Captain.

The name itself is a pun on the word contempt (Kahntahmp(t)), which is what my character felt for his homeworld, and how I felt after they cancelled Farscape.

Feeling that that would best fit my attitude, I took all three shows I admired (Star Wars, Star Trek, Farscape) and combined them.

Now I am the first Sith Cardassian in Tormented Space.

Does my avatar make me look slightly pale and sith'd off?

Damn. I thought you were John Cleese.

The first message board on which I tried to register already had a KatLou. There was a Visual Basic book on my desk so I stuck a 'VB' in front of it. I use the same handle on all boards so I don't have to remember who I am (OK, that didn't come out right, but you get the picture. Right?).

One thing I am thankful for, even though I didn't think about it at the time, is that my name can't be cloned by a troll. This came in handy over at the DOM.

Trusting Illusion
04-10-2004, 09:42 AM
Does my sn give me bragging rights? Not really, if anything it exposes one of my key personality traits. I'm to trusting:). And sadly I came up with the sn for a charactor I rp, only later did I realize how much it actually said about me.
