Did anyone else get a bit of a twinge of irritation when the chat was opened up with the words..."SCIFI's original mini-series Farscape: Peacekeeper War".

I mean, we all know that SCIFI didn't pay for the production, just the right to air it. And yet they're already trying to make it sound like it is THEIRS. Yes, I know, it's all a question of marketing and branding. But as far as I'm concerned, this is "Henson's original mini-series Farscape: Peacekeeper War", and nothing that SCIFI might say will change that.

I keep wishing that SCIFI would actually be generous about the fact they've gotten the opportunity to air more Farscape after their shoddy treatment of it, but I guess that's just asking too much. After all, if any of the broadcast and cable networks were doing what was right for their viewers, they'd get rid of those damn irritating channel logos and pop-up advertisements during our favorite shows, and stop advertising the same bloody shows over and over in every single ad break.

All I can say is: thank god for DVDs...while I'll be watching the mini-series on SCIFI in the fall, I'll be even more eagerly awaiting it's release on DVD so that I can watch it the way it's meant to be watched: on a big high-definition widescreen TV with Dolby Digital sound :D

Yeah. I won't repeat what I said when I read that, but, I think irritation is a good word.

But, hey, if they're going to air the thing, then that's all good. I can try to smother my irritation - or at least curb its tourettes-like impulses.

 Of course, if they're willing to call it an original production, maybe they'll PROMOTE it like one.

Not that i'm holding my breath or anything. :dunno:

And a very good reaction at that. You're right Stars, maybe they'll promote it like they should based on that... this chat and Brian's is bound to present even more concrete evidence that they should - the turnout with the Mad Mad House Guest, "Christmas", or whatever his/her name was, had people already saying they were in there last night for Farscape's front row seats. I'd be willing to bet there's going to be people till 5 AM EST in there still babbling about Ben and Claudia though. Of course... like you said... don't hold your breath.

Farscape returns! You might have heard about the miniseries coming later this year to SCI FI. Do you finally believe we love the show, too? Post your bouquets and brickbats on the official Farscape BBoard.

This is what blew me away tonight when I went to their site to make sure I got to the right location for the chat. Erm....... Do I believe you now?? NOOOOOO! On the other hand, it sure beats the "you asked for it and we responded" line I was expecting?

 And my personal reply to that was, Skiffy, do YOU finally believe we WATCH?

yet another example of skiffy's foot-in-mouth syndrome :tonguetie

It sounds like SciFi's been feeling a lot of the anger we've been sending them the last year and a half. But I'm getting used to their behavior. At least they've decided to air the miniseries. It's better than nothing.

Stars - I love your avatar - nice one from the chat!!! That was one of my favorite parts - besides all the other parts!!

Yeah, I don't have much faith in skiffy - they're a true corporation & trust me when I say that only the money matters - nothing else does. So, our job is to get the viewers!! That can help make money talk!

Skiffy... their word is mud with me unless and until there is a major change in management and mission statement. They'll not gull me a second time...

Fool me once, shame on you... fool me twice? I don't think so!

You know it's funny. You'd think that bringing back their favorite show would be an action so positive and idiot proof that NO ONE no matter how freakishly incompetant could possibly manage to actually further piss of fans by doing it.

Sci-fi found a way though. Proving that impossible is just a word used to describe the chances of their managment walking upright and using simple tools.

I would have preferred the "Henson's original mini-series Farscape: Peacekeeper War".

But I think that the Farscape: Peacekeepper War is at the very eccence of the note.

I see you have under-estimated the depth of skiffy's arrogance, greed, lack of foresight, or self-indulgent babbling... Did I miss anything? :dunno:

And DB, it's not you. IT'S THEM.... :boom:

I disagree.

**never miss a chance to make a Farscape reference, especially in a Farscape forum.

I wasn't able to be at the chat, but I did read a transcript of it, and I found Ben and Claudia so entertaining to be around. It's obvious that they are just great together. Yes, I know that Ben is married, but his friendship with Claudia is just so close. It's like they are brother and sister off-screen. Well, okay, so maybe not.

Anyway, I think that Sci-Fi (skiffy??? why that? .. oh.. nevermind, I see now) is just looking for a way to try and save their collective arses from the fire. I've seen FarScape mentioned on several different news channels, and all over the internet, and I believe that they are trying to garner what little bit of self-respect they have left.

It's similar to when they brought Michael Shanks back to Stargate-SG1. Except the fans of that show only got one actor back. We got an entire SHOW back. Impressive, indeed. :D

They have been calling SG-1 a skiffy original the whole time. And all of thier crappy movies, several of which where not made by them.
