Wow that was a nice surprise.

I have all the episodes from seasons 1-4 on dvd and thought that i had see them all!!

But after watching the choice and reading a thread on the boards, watched the lockett.

Wow that was a good episode a nice all in one episode, and i was in floods of tears at the end!

Did anyone else love the locket.

It was an okay ep... it had some continuity things that can be explained away though. But my least favorite part was the Breakup scene between Dargo and Chiana I mean that was a great scene but the next week I was tairing out my hair wondering why they wer still togther... (Stupid me forgeting they went back in time and stuff) yeah but it was good... and also you could see the (pardon the pun) budding relationship between Zhaan and Stark which was sweet.

I loved that ep. I'm sad that I've only been able to see it once though.

Of course it took me quite awhile to underastand the "same old pain" thing. I must have been off that day.

That's actually the first ep I ever saw and the one that sucked me into Farscape. The chemistry between Crichton and Aeryn was so apparent and compelling even through the "old age" scenes that I couldn't change the channel. And the rest of the story was so out of the ordinary that I made sure to watch the show again to try to figure it all out.

This was a pretty cool episode, yeah. Definitely one of the most touching ones in the first two years.

It's a reference to the stabbing that she got from Larraq at the end on A Bug's Life. This is scene also pops up in The Choice (the closest thing that Farscape has come to a clip show, and I'm damn happy about it).

My favorite part of the episode is the way John talks to Aeryn at the end; how he's wanted to take her home. I love it when his Southern accent gets thicker, and when he was old, it really was.

If you watch the commentary for the Choice, Claudia Black talks about how they recreated that scene and what that means for their memories of that incident (did it happen or not).

I never thought the "same old pain" had anything to do with Aeryn's stabbing. I figured it had to do with a heart condition that someone at her age might have. It was used as foreshadowing for her death on the way back to Moya. She also got the same pain while they were contacting Moya. Both times, I thought she was clutching her heart.

Plus, how the stab wound from Velorek is all healed up and wouldn't cause her problems in her old age, at least not enough to press her hand to her heart.

I did too. I though it was just because she was old. That is why when she does it in the Choice, you know she is remembering that time from the Locket.

Yes it could be that but it could still be the stabben, old wounds can begin to ack more with age. Of course the reference in the Choice doesn't really make sense, because the events from the locket never happened.

And Crichtons accent was great.

Uuum. At the risk of sounding like a COMPLETE Farscape geek, I think the events on the favored planet did happen! It's just that the favored planet was trapped deep inside the cloud. An entirely different time/space dimension.

Moya was stuck right at the edge of the cloud. It had it's own dimensional quirks (Hence the need to escape it). When Moya did the oh-so-risky reverse starburst (with Zhann & Stark's assistance), they were returned to the "real" universe/dimension.

Zhann and Star remembered everything, while John and Aeryn were left with only vague impressions that "something" had happened between them. It was resurfaced memories that came out when Aeryn grieved for John during The Choice.

And then there was the locket itself. I think the dust was what was left of John's picture.

Now that I've said all of this, I'm going to have to watch the episode again.... I'd hate to think I said all of this, and then... :whoops:

(Can you tell I kinda liked that episode? :shhh: )

Well yes Zhaan and Stark remembered in a sort of Hitchhiker's Guide sort of way. But the others wouldn't remeber be cause they did this whole time warpy thing, so it didn't happen. The only way she could have remebered it happening is with the mind and soul being not bound to the rules space time. That's how when there has been a dramatic realignment of reality, someone can understand that things have gone wonko.

Funnily enought I just watched this ep last night (I'm on my second run through of season 2!) and I cried most of the way through it! One thing I find interesting is how Old Aeryn and Old Crichton, don't appear to have discussed their feelings, even after 50years together! Hence the whole what's in the locket discussion. Maybe John thought he'd be stepping on her (Late)husbands toes or he wimped out as Aeryn had already 'lived' her life which is why he's so grumpy and desperate to get back to Moya. I don't know, still thinking about it - anybody else any thoughts?

I think ou hit it on the head AliR. Part of the reason why I find the ep to be so sad.

Just to make sure I'm understanding you right, are you saying that the mind and soul ARE bound to the rules of space time. And therefore the years J&A spent on the favored planet could not have happened?

Well I'm not saying that they are, because I don't know. But you would have to accept that for the events to make sense.

This is precisely what I always think when watching this ep. Also, I like the line when Aeryn says something like, "If something happened I'm sure we'd remember it." Then, they share the little smile, I always think they're thinking of their time on Earth in AHR. :)
