I think I would have made a really good flapper in the 20s. I love to dance and I think it would have been fun to go to speak-easys. And I love the clothes from that era. There used to be this show on AnE (forget the name of it) about two sisters who became designers and the clothes were just fantastic. Of course, I would want to be an idle rich flapper, with nothing to do but find ways to entertain myself. Like the ones in the early Agatha Christie novels.

So what about you? Is there any time period that you identify with? Past, future, or unearthly?

I never really thought about it. I enjoy the midevil times and the victorian era but being female I am not sure if I would have liked to live in those times. I really think I am comfortable in the time I am in now. :dunno:

could I have the knowledge that I have now? If yes... I would go to the early 1800's and grabbed all the gold in california, the Diamonds in South Africa... maybe some oil... er... uh...

I'm thinking either the age of the Roman Empire, or now. I like now, a lot, actually.

i like it here and now, really. but if i were to be able to go temporarily, i agree with VBKatLou, the 20's would be great. but i think i'd like the 50's a lot too. the clothes were amazing.

how come no one is thinking of the future?

right here and right now. I love technology too much to think about living without it. And women had a very tough time in previous times and weird and very umcofortable clothes (men too btw).

Dunno, i like it now...

Well if I can have it so that women could have all the rights they have now in the 1920s, then I guess you can have the gold. Although that is a bit too Back to the Future don't ya think? :rollin:

Well I would live 100 years from now, just out of curiousity.
Otherwise, I'd live in ancient Rome.

It would be fun to jump 500-1000 year into the future just so see 500-1000th run of a sporting event or how the world works then. if anything is SCI-FI was even close to what the future is!

I think I might have enjoyed during the late 1700's in my hometown. I know the history, so I feel pretty comfortable with it. And there was a lot of history happening in our little port city.

For some odd reason, I would like to live in the era of the dinosaurs just as long as they wouldn't eat me.

No indoor plumbing (toilet, hot water, regular bathing), no modern medicine, no comfortable & properly fitting clothes, little or no books (no literacy, for that matter), the same with music (unless you were in the king's court), back breaking labor and field work 18 hours a day, almost no travel unless you were rich enough to own a horse..... no.... no thank you. The past is a nice place to visit for a few days, but I wouldn't want to live there. My own recent past (to re-live again) yeah. The future.... you bet. :D

10million years in the future just 'cause I'm curious. If there was nothing to be found there but hideous bug men and their horriffic hives then probably early 20th century.

I would want to live as far into the future as I could be taken, where we humans have FINALLY figured out space travel, and we are all 'zipping around the galaxy like on star trek'....or farscape....or Star Wars...you get what I mean.

Because I think a future like that, minus all the wars and whatnot, would be GREAT!

NB: Just so you know, Im a huge DREAMER and I think about this sort of stuff ALOT! :D

I would like to live in the Renaissance to be a part of all the changes that were made in that time. Or to the very beginning were I would have told the serpent to stick his fruit where the sun don't shine.

I usually feel like I'm not of this time or any time. I'm too different by far to fit into most any time!

Notwithstanding the non-existent medical care, it'd have to be medieval England for me - as long I as had at least some status. I'm a very good archer, so I'd fit right in, and I think I'd pick up sword use fairly quickly as well. A loyal senior man-at-arms or squire, that's me :D

2050, it'll either be the best of times or the worst of times. But I'm willing to roll the dice!

A mythical time (existing only in my imagination) where no-one is persecuted because of their race, no war exists and money does not drive humanity.

Failing that, I would like to go back in time to see

a) Jesus - I want find out exactly what happened during his time and what he was like
b) Egypt at the time the sphinx, pyramids and other monuments where built
c) To a time where I can observe the ancient races before they were wiped out and see how people lived before they vanished &/or their cities were reduced to ruins (S America, N America, India, Australia)

I have always thought that I would like to live in midevil times. I have read so many books and such about that time period, that it just makes me wonder what life would have been like back then. I have noticed several people have posted something about medical care and such from time periods prior to this one. Luckily, I am very healthy and always have been. I would go back to that time period without question or hesiatation.

I'd love to live during the Renaissance, as long as I could have a microwave. And electricity. And air conditioning.

Then you had better also want to go back rich. Just think what it would cost to put in central air in one of those castles. :D
