I find looking for them exciting - it's amazing to see how far they have climbed up the ladder in just a couple of days. It's also fun to see what a huge difference a couple of votes makes to their placings.
I find it entertaining to see who is up ahead :pi: or behind them :bigwave: and I do it to promote Farscape.
But I realize that not everyone finds it exciting, fun or interesting. If you only want to vote for Ben and Claudia fine, vote just for them. But those of us who get a kick out of voting for all of them should not be criticized for doing so.
These polls are supposed to be fun and an inexpensive way to promote Farscape as not everyone can contribute money to the various campaigns.

I can assume that the British rendition of disqualify is slightly different to what Americans understand it to be. So I checked the Oxford dictionary and here is what it says ...

disqualify: v 1 debar from a competition, or pronounce ineligible as a winner. 2. make or pronounce ineligible, unsuitable or unqualified.

That to me sounds pretty final! Is that how others read it? They disqualified Farscape 3 weeks ago and have yet to change their statement so it still reads what it did then.

My personal feeling on the matter, is that Farscape was not the only show on the poll that was subject to 'cheating'.
The Simpsons, Friends and even Angel had unexplainably large total votes a few months ago. However, because Farscape was so consistently the winner, I suspect it irked the BBC and they wanted to do something about it. Their other shows were just not getting the votes. By disqualifying Farscape they effectively removed the 'hot' competition.

Further, the BBC are involved in their own brand of 'cheating' with impunity - as they continually put up the same shows and stars (who were knocked off the polls the week or two before). It is difficult to believe, that a show or a star that received 2% of the vote or even 4% of the vote 2 weeks earlier is now the most requested show or star for the poll just a week later.

If the show or the star was so in demand, why did it get such a low percentage of the vote the week they were on the poll? It just makes no sense. One would not even see this happening unless one voted consistently.

So the BBC pad the polls with their own ideas of who or what will be on it and they seem to take little notice of what the voters are asking for.

That's MHO and that's the word on the street! :lol

I think some fans are just way more dedicated than we are. I can't get over the fact that Britney :hork: has 57,000 + votes ... she is just not that meritorious.

Even Gillian Anderson is holding firm at #3 with over 100 votes EVERY DAY ... that just makes me feel ill. Most days we're lucky if 20 Scapers vote for Claudia and the other jirls.

I think some fans are just way more dedicated than we are. I can't get over the fact that Britney :hork: has 57,000 + votes ... she is just not that meritorious.
You have to think of all the teeny-boppers and young'uns that are starry-eyed for Britney. Plus, she gets quite a bit more exposure...magazines, commercials, magazines, yadda yadda... At least Miss Black is in the top fitty.

Plus, all our peeps are higher ranked than Vin Diesel now.

Hi Freckle

The acquisitions department will make the decision on the basis of how
good the mini-series is, on the ratings Farscape got in the past, and
whether there's a suitable slot for it. They might pay a little bit of
attention to how many emails the info@bbc.co.uk address has had, but
they already know that the show is popular, so it'll only be a little
bit. They won't pay any attention to online polls and things at all.
