Anybody playing city of heroes? Its a decent game if you want to play a super hero and run around beating up criminals. I play on the liberty server as the Amazing Titan.

Im just kinda curious if any other scapers out there are playing this game and if so, what kinda character did you make.

I would love to play COH. I am even a member of their bboard, though I don't post there as much anymore. It's the same problem with any mmorpg though for me. I don't have the money to spend on the monthly fee, or the time to play it.

The concept though is great, and it would be great to play this game.

*edit*
D'oh, I just checked back on the forum and it got switched over to the closed one. Guess I was gone longer than I thought.

the thing i love about it is the simplicity. all you do really is fight crime. which sure sounds kinda boring at first but its not, theres so much crime to fight its great. you can group with other heroes and can even form superhero teams.

i played star wars for 6 months last year. from shortly after launch to december. i got very very bored with it. i mean, combat is so freaking difficult, and it takes sooooo freaking long to advance unless you group all the time with people.

i like the concept of choosing if you want to be solo or group. it makes it a much more fun game for someone like me who only plays a few hours here or there. and the fact that there is so much crime that and npc's that i can actually fight and do a darn good job of kicking the crap out of. its just nice to actually feel like you can do something in a game instead of being stuck in one particular spot looking for the lowest lvl npc's and running like heck cause just about everything around you can kill you with a look (cough cough star wars galaxies cough cough)

my only beefs come from the fact that you can only pick two colors for your costume, and that your hair color is linked to that. i mean, what if i wanted a blonde character in a red or black jump suit. cant do it, he has to have either red or black hair. that is my only beef with the games character design.

the only other complaint i could have is one that star wars galaxies suffers from too, the so called ability to make a character look how ever you want them too. star wars you can change the length of your nose, the size of your mouth, eyes, how far apart they are and etc. problem is, most characters tend to look alike no matter what you do. unless you pick an alien, and go extremes with your face's proportions, you look normal and just like everyone else.

there are just arent enough options to make your character as unique as they claim you can. when i hear hundreds of options for designing your character, i expect tons and tons, for it to an hour just to create your character. problem is that is all just talk. the only game ive seen that happen is were the wrestling games on the n64, where you could select from hundreds of different moves and it literally took an hour to make your character.

they games, it maybe takes 10-20 minutes tops, and thats if you cant decide easy. those are my only beefs and they are both things that will hopefully be fixed eventually in future updates to the game. other than that, i dig this game totally.

I would like to play, but alas I don't have the money. I beta tested SWG untill it opened, because I didn't have the money. I liked it. This game looks cool, So I guess I'll just have to wait for Freedom Force 2.

I'll attach some screenshots from the final day before they shut down the server. It was a big party in Bespin

SWG was a dissappointment too, they tend to put too much into the players hands in these games. It would be better if the conflicts were between the computer and the players just interact and affect that.

I like that it had a completely player run economy, and you ability to go about it how you choose, while still being able to participate in the war. It's the whole point of a community.

Wahoo! Love this game! I know we're not supposed to copycat already created characters but I just had to create an Aeryn Sun, blaster of course, with a HUmungous gun. Love it! Come check my character out if you're online. I ran into a scaper the other day and he created John Crichton when he saw my Aeryn, but I never see him playing online anymore. It would be sweet (sorry, just say Napoleon Dynamite!) if we got a scaper supergroup. See you in Paragon City!

my only beefs come from the fact that you can only pick two colors for your costume, and that your hair color is linked to that.

You need to un-check the "copy these colours across entire costume" box (or whatever it's called). You can have separate colours for each costume element.

I'm playing on Justice. I have a defender named LadyHummingbird, and a scrapper named Blue Shadow. I have a couple other low-level chars, too - I like variety. :)
