I wouldn't normally post something like this, but I bought a bunch of S1 Illustrated Companions from bookcloseouts.com and I just got a notice from them that I thought some of the people on this board might be interested in if they have kids.

They are selling their children's books at 50% off their regular discount price through the end of May. Lots of books for under $2. I generally buy a good many children's books during the course of the year to donate to local children's charities and these look like some pretty good prices to me.

For anyone else who's interested, you can get to the sale at:

Another good place to look for kids books is thrift shops. Good thing, too...my kiddo can't get enough books and she's only allowed 3 at a time from the library.

Bookcloseouts.com is a great place to buy books - I've bought from them since 1999! I have a coupon code for $5 off a $35 order that you can use each time you order:
Coupon: habit
Password: bookcloseouts
Expires: Sept 1, 2004

Enjoy!
