SFX Story on Mini - small SPOILERS

Hi,

Haven't seen this elsewhere yet, so I think its fairly new. The June edition of SFX magazine (now available in Britain) has a short story on the Mini. Basically another interview with Brian Henson. Most of it is the same as we saw in the Dreamwatch version, but a couple of interesting things...

OK - BIG war, love story, yaddah yaddah yaddah...

"Henson reveals that some of the older regulars who weren't in the series when it ended will be making an appearance ("But I'm not telling you who or how!"), that there's a new Peacekeeper Commander and a new alien race who work of the peacekeepers."

Plus "two cool special FX sequences that start off the mini-series."

And Brian also says he put pressure on to make sure it was more accessible to a new audience.

Which all sounds good to me! Especially 'older regulars' - plural. I think 'more accessible' is OK because I'm pretty sure Brian doesn't mean accessible in the dumbed down Sci-Fi sense of 'so moronic your Granny's hamster could follow the plot'. I also like the editor's note at the end of the story: "There'll be loads more coverage of the new Farscape mini-series in the next issue of SFX." Yay!

Of course, one wonders with how secret the mini has been kept on any real plot stuff, just how much 'loads of coverage' they'll really be able to give.

No - they're not spoilers to me either: I love getting just enough hints to get my imagination firing. But I thought I'd better err on the side of caution! There's a pic of John and Aeryn but although I can't quite place it, it looks Season 3 to me. (Sorry, haven't got a scanner).

I really hope they can work up and excuse to bring Bekhesh back again. I don't care how and I wouldn't mind seeing Natira again either.

I wonder who the new Pk commander will be and what role he/she will play. This is very interesting to me. I wonder how this new person will factor into the whole Braca/Grayza/Scorpius plotline.

I was just watching Bad Timing last night and the thought struck me...

These aliens clearly have technology of pieces. Meaning....they, themselves, are individual parts that creat a whole. So what I'm very badly trying to say is that their transporter beam quite logically fragments items into small pieces and reconstitutes upon arrival...I'm lookin very forward to seeing D whoop ass and save our fragmented duo.....

As an aside...does anyone else think that Chiana's white eyes are the bomb?

I'm really curious about the new Peacekeeper commander too. When I was at work and getting carts last night I kept picturing some rough-tough "stereotypical-but-not-really" kind've a hard-ass guy... I think that sort've real crude military dictatorship-type persona would play in well with the others. Maybe he's from PK Space and is disgusted with the actions of the far-away Peacekeepers that have ventured into the UTs.

Ohhhhhhhhh... I just had an evil thought.... (well two actually, but I can't share the second one. :ewink: ) What if Aeryn's frist "love" Larak (sp) isn't dead? Did she see them kill him?? PK's are a cold bunch, but they don't like to waste valuable resources.

Velorek was Aeryn's "first love" in The Way We Weren't. Larak (again, sp) was the person she took a fancy to in A Bug's Life.

But yeah, I've been wondering about the re-appearance of Velorek. After all, he was mentioned *briefly* when Aeryn was being tortured in Prayer... maybe helping set something up...

I just think that bringing someone in from Peacekeeper Space who hasn't been exposed to all of the hardships that have changed these Uncharted Territories Peacekeepers would be a good idea. People like Scorpius, Grayza, Braca... I doubt they're anything like High Command. Well actually no, I think Braca is a lot like High Command - he's managed to retain himself far better than the others, or Crais, or who-have-you. I think another Braca-like, this time more rough on the edges, would be good.

As far as "more accessible" goes, I think here it simply means that they'll take time early in the mini to have a bunch of expository to bring new viewer up to speed as much as possible.

old regulars who weren't on when the series went off, I can only think of three. (I'm talking regular to mean someone who's name at some time appeared in the opening credits.)

Jool's easy, she's still alive and on that planet from WWL. Crais/Tayln and Zhann are both dead. So if its not simply these people appearing in John's head, who do you think will be back, and how?
