Starburst - Brian spills more beans (mild spoilers)

Starburst 311 (June 2004) has a big interview with Brian Henson about the mini. I'm posting these mildly-spoily tidbits here, so that anyone who wants to avoid even officially-approved spoilers can avoid reading them.

"It's really the story of the Crichton/Aeryn Sun romance. This is the story that answers all the questions between them and their relationship, and having of a baby and the decisions that those two with their life histories are now faced with in terms of the realities of becoming family. They're facing choices that we all make when trying to become a family, and the enormous pressures it puts on Crichton, who ends up right in the middle of what is effectively an intergalactic war, where he doesn't agree fundamentally with either side and yet ends up in the middle. It will be the biggest and coolest Farscape yet."

"Akhna and Staleek play very strongly. Sikozu has a new look, which is very cool, and there's also an elite squadron of Luxans that have a pretty important role. There's a new race called the Tragins, and other than that, it's really a return for all of our characters."

That would be my guess. With such a memorable entrance right at the end there, it makes sense to me that they'd be coming back. Especially since they have to reconstitute John and Aeryn.

A squadron of Luxans playing a pretty important role!? Okay, now I'm more psyched than ever. Actual development on the Luxans! THIS IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR! (Erm, alongside other races' development.) But still... if anyone remembers I've been ranting about more depth for D'Argo's people for ages! Now I can finally shut up! ;)

At the Scapercon in Chicago last August, Anth was talking about one of the reasons he was so disappointed about there not being a 5th season was that D'Argo was supposed to have gotten some really meaty stuff. At the time, I thought he might just be making it up, messing with little Scaper heads, but now...

Qualta blade, ancient Luxan weapon, apparently unique in the universe. Lo'La, ancient Luxan spaceship, able to be used only by someone who fits certain criteria, one of which is having a Qualta blade. Luxan territories, potentially ceded to the Scarrans by Grayza in the name of Peacekeeper High Command.

According to Anth, they were setting D'Argo up to be the saviour of his people. That was supposed to be a big thread in the arc for season 5. Brian has said something to the effect that the mini is essentially season 5 without the stand alone eps.

Now, I'm just waitin' to see if this pans out. :D
