this is actually my fault, but damn you amazon for making your website so frelling hard to comprehend!!
okay, i've been using amazon for a while now...but i was at college and my college address was on record.
i had to order a present for my friend. ugh. okay, so i order it only to realize "crap, i have the wrong address" and then i find out that supposedly it's already shipped? WTF!!! i ordered it 3 seconds ago! okay, so i can't cancel i guess, so i go back a page and at the bottom it says in big black bold letters "items not already shipped"...so im thinking "hey if it hasnt shipped, why the &^*^&&* can't i cancel my order?!!?!"
so now there's like 10 bucks on my credit card for something that i can't pick up!!!
and not to mention that their crappy "help" center isn't much help AT ALL because i wanted to email them and ask them about the confusion and all they have is a stupid feedback box that doesn't work cause it gives me a stupid DNS error!! so if i can't find my answer on the website and i can't email them, then what the frell do i do now?! ugggh!!!! whats worse is that the stuff i ordered is CANDY. so it'll sit in my mailbox for another 3 months?!
and i have to order ANOTHER present now cause the first one got sent to the wrong address!!!!
why don't you just call them?? they have a number for customer service stuff...

Yeah, what Jul said..or send them an email..I have made errors that were my fault and have called or emailed them. They have been nice about helping me to get it straightened out.

i can't send them an email. the box won't let me. i can't find an email address on the site, the help box thing that lets me send an email keeps giving me a DNS error.

not to mention that they state that they can ship certain items to different addresses if they're gifts, that you will get that option on the order form...and yet, NOPE! i didnt get that! all it did was order stuff for me before i even got to confirm anything!
And they're supposed to send you a confirmation email right? i havent gotten one.

Cancel Items from an Order
You can cancel your order for any item sold by Amazon.com, provided that the order has not yet entered the shipping process.
Visit the order summary in Your Account. If we can recognize you as a customer with any unshipped orders, you will see a box to the right. Click the relevant link in that box to visit the order summary page. (If you do not see that box, click here to sign in to Your Account, and select the order you wish to alter.)
Once you've reached the order summary, click the "Need to cancel an item?" button. On the next page, click the checkbox next to any item you want to cancel. Be sure to click the "Cancel checked items" button when you are finished.
If the item you want to cancel has already entered the shipping process, it cannot be canceled by you or by our customer service department. However, you can return the item for a refund. Visit our Returns Center for more information.
You have to be signed in to your account with your e-mail and password and then right at the bottom it tells you about contacting Amazon.com. It will give you a pop up box the next time you click on contact us at the bottom of the page
Did this help? Continue shopping.
Still have questions? Search help or contact us.

OHHH TRUST ME I'VE SEEN THAT A MILLION TIMES!!
the problem is, there's a contradiction. i don't see the option to cancel anything, even though i looked just about 10 seconds after i ordered it cause i forgot it was the wrong shipping address, so therefore it must be shipped already right?
so why does it say on the bottom "items not yet shipped.." and listed my order?!

You need to fill out the "contact us" form immediately and send it to them ... they will stop the shipment
I did that once and they sent me an e-mail within an hour of me sending the form in.
You have to have the order number however

Wow... times like this I'm glad I have literally no capability to utilize a credit card or most online methods of purchase.

I just did a quick search for their phone number on their site, and all I get is a message that their policy is they can only change an order if they get an email from the associated e-mail address. I'll check around some more.

This is sounding pretty bad.

So, you haven't gotten the order confirmation email yet? Did you order from Amazon or the Amazon Marketplace? I'd call your credit card company and ask if it's been charged to your account. When did you place the order?
I just checked old email confirmations that I had stored and none of them provide a phone number either. :(

I have never had anything like this happen to me before on Amazon. Once, I had tried to cancel something that I had ordered but decided that I didn't want so I tried to cancel the order. The order had already shipped so I just returned the item when I received it.

ahhh my neighborhood book store great place. :aok:
good luck AS
Amazon's always been great to me, too. Again, even when I made the error. I made a mistake once and they posted the correct item as soon as I contacted them. Before I had even returned the first order. And they didn't charge me for it at all, just the corrected order. I'm pretty sure your college would also forward the box to you if you called their post office, if you can't get things straightened out with Amazon.
Not that it does you much good now, but it might in the future, I guess... Diid you perhaps do the One-click ordering? I think it automatically puts in your default shipping address and payment information, and doesn't give you a lot of the options you would normally get, like shipping a gift to another address. Takes a few more clicks, but I leave it turned off, just because I like to doublecheck the credit card and shipping address.

i didn't do one click, and the problem wouldnt be so big if the fact that the shipping address its shipping to is 4 hours away from where i live.

They don't have a phone number but they are very responsive to e-mail. I have never had a problem with anything I've bought (unless it was my personal mistake) and even then they fixed it as soon as I notified them.
I love shopping with them and even bought my nail guns, and compressor through them at a great price and no shipping costs :aok:
