Audrey Hepburn 'most beautiful woman of all time'
June 1, 2004
Pefection personified ... experts have voted Audrey Hepburn the most naturally beautiful woman of all time.
Film legend Audrey Hepburn was yesterday named the most naturally beautiful woman of all time by a panel of experts.
Three Australians featured in the first 10 out of 100 beauties, actress Cate Blanchett, who came in third, singer Natalie Imbruglia and model Elle Macpherson.
Princess Diana came in 12th.
Hepburn, the star of Roman Holiday and Breakfast at Tiffany's, topped the poll of beauty editors, make-up artists, fashion editors, model agencies and fashion photographers who were asked to choose their top 10 beauties from the list of 100 compiled by the drinks firm Evian.
The women were chosen for their "embodiment of natural beauty, healthy living, beautiful on the inside and out, with great skin and a natural glow to their personality, as well as their complexion", Evian said.
Hepburn was joined in the top five by current US film star Liv Tyler, Blanchett, Tomb Raider star Angelina Jolie and the '50sicon turned princess Grace Kelly.
"Audrey Hepburn is the personification of natural beauty," said Elle beauty director Rosie Green.
"She has a rare charm and inner beauty that radiates when she smiles. Her skin looks fresh in all her films and her personality really shines through as someone warm and lively."
More than 76 per cent of the beauty experts who voted in the survey mentioned Hepburn in their top 10.
The survey also showed that while 32 per cent of the icons placed in the No. 1 spot by panel members were blondes, 22 per cent redheads and 46 per cent brunettes.
"People who are confident without a scrap of make-up and look healthy, happy and glowing, seem like natural beauties to me," said Eleonore Crompton, of Heat magazine.

no, j-lo has no place. we want women who did something to gain recognition, not showed something to get attention. i mean, are we doing this based on physical looks? cause then a lot of the people on that list are on there for a reason, but haven't had much of a career or haven't done anything to help anyone. what has j-lo done besides shake her butt around to a beat? at least angelina jolie adopted kids from a third world country. j-lo designed perfume!

I don't agree with that list, Audrey excluded.
angelina can be nice to look at some times, but I didn't thiink she would qualify for "natural" beauty, unless I'm mistaken.
There are several I would put on the list;
Selma Hayek
Jennifer Love Hewit
Kathlein Heigl
Shania Twain

i'm glad uma thurman is on the list though, though how cate blanchett made it to number 3 i don't know!! she's beautiful, but how much more so than other people? i mean, what kind of standards are we looking at here?
i'd like to see drew barrymore on that list. she's done a lot with her life, going from very low to very high (LITERALLY!), to finding a really healthy balance where she has a life.
do we notice that none of the "modern" actresses are really over a size 4? we can't say marilyn monroe because in her time, she was this great beauty and it is because she was curvatous. now, apparently the only curve you can have is j-lo's booty.
and i personally don't think beyonce to be that beautiful. her songs are aggravating and revolves around 2 verses and the chorus repeating about 8 times straight, hiding it's inadequacy behind studio-produced beats and scratches.

then again i think madonna actually is very pretty when she's more toned down. less glam, more natural.
same with gwen stefani. she rocks, but i think she was so much prettier without so much makeup, looking more natural and less severe and processed. the younger gwen, during no doubt's "let's make REAL music" era, before she became "let's make PARTY music" solo efforts.

on the contrary, i think she's the right size. she isn't too thin, but she's not battling obesity either. i think she's a good actress to look for because she isn't stick thin, and she's happy being that way. at least she gives the illusion that she has a little padding. her sister is a plus size model and she's beautiful, so obviously it's not a big issue.

I love women with dark hair...or oddly colored hair, I guess it's the anime fan in me

i think when i get it back to completely black, i'm going to keep it long and straight (like it comes in any other way....) but i'll dye a bottom portion of it bright red during the summer. or platinum blonde, almost white...so when it's up, it looks cool.
