Did they put a filter on the camera in S3?

I've just started watching Season 3 on DVD, and I noticed the huge cinematic difference in the Seasons. The lights are dimmed, and the colors are faded and washed out.

The film making reminds me of the Neo Noir style, best represented in "The Crow". Since they couldn't make it black and white, they but a filter on the camera to washout and weaken all colors. Did they do this for Farscape Season 3 and 4?

In Season 4 they dimmed the lights as they'd changed to hi-res cameras and didn't want set imperfections to show up.

They probably used some sort of filter in Season 3 to make it look more "noir" alright. I noticed even Pilot looks different colour wise. I loved Season 3's "noir" style.
