He's five, and leaving this afternoon to visit my mom in Gulfport, MS. He actually flies into New Orleans. But it's by himself!!! Actually, he was supposed to go this morning at 7:30, but we couldn't catch the flight. (The airport was PACKED!) So he got bumped to 12:30. He went back home w/ his dad to take a nap and I am "trying" to run errands. (See me, sitting here, running errands?!)

So I am nervous, he dad is nervous. Pat's ok, but I am sure when he gets on the plane, chances are he's going to have a fit. I hope not. I just hope I don't start crying till the plane leaves!

Nervous mommy...

Relax nervous Mommy. I let my 5 year old fly to visit my sister (back in 1977). The airlines allocate a person to take care of him and he'll have a ball ... just make sure they show him how to open the bathroom door on the plane as poor Robert was locked in and practically kicked the door down.

If you make it a great fun adventure he will not be scared at all - you on the other hand will no doubt be a nervous wreck until he arrives safely.

Yup, and I'm living proof that it's all right. I was five, myself, when I came down to Florida on a plane from my mom to my grandmother and started living here.
