UK DVD 2.4 Special Edition, part of a set or one off?

Last year I purchased a Special edition Farscape season 2.4 double DVD from WHSmith in the UK, It came with special packaging and a season 2 mouse mat featuring a photo of the cast.

It appears from the special packaging that this particular special edition box set was exclusive to WHSmith, as their logo is printed on the packaging, however I have never seen another one for sale, and was wondering if it was just a one-off special for the 2.4 DVD or if there was a special edition version for each season 2 box set?

Has anyone else seen one?

I don't know about Season 2, but each season 3 box set was in two versions - standard and DeLuxe (with mouse mat, a special gadget like comm badge, PK vid chip, and 2 Farscape drawings), unfortunately 3.1 is not available anywhere and this one had FS watch (and I missed it of course :( )

Yes, I have all the Season 3 Deluxe Box sets (including 3.1 with the watch)
You can still get them from MVC, for some reason it's not actually listed as the 3.1 Deluxe set, but just as Farscape - Season 3 Deluxe Set, which is rather confusing.

It took me ages to find a copy and check it was the correct one, as they all look very similar and dont actually have the box set number on the packaging, but anyway, the light brown coloured one is 3.1,

Yes, I have all the Season 3 Deluxe Box sets (including 3.1 with the watch)

Yep I do-I own the mousemat one aswell. It was a purely WHSMiths only promotional pack and they did two or three if I remember rightly with other extras in the pack. I can't remember for the life of me what the others had but I do remember how hard it was persuading my local WH smith's they existed!

Interestingly when I bought the 2.4 limited edition dvd, the guys in WHsmith were unsure which discs should go in the box, and I'm sure one of them was holding a Farscape CD (possibly the Soundtrack CD) however I never saw another Farscape DVD appear on the shelf in that particular shop, so I dont know if it was from one of the limited edition sets or not.

These Season 2 limited edition sets seem quite rare, but surely someone must own them!?

I can tell you that WHSmiths did def not do one for all the S2 sets. It was only 2 or three because I know I missed 1 or two. I can ask on another board because I know others who did buy them but I will say the soundtrack cd was not part of any giveaways. It was items of much lower value like say bookmarks or I think one was a set of postcards.

Thanks for the update, I'm surprised that there was not a limited edition version for each of the season 2 sets, I suppose WHSmith just came up with the idea halfway through the releases. It would still be good to know what the other extras were though.

It's a shame I missed them when they were released, it was only by chance that I found the 2.4 limited edition set.
Still, I did manage to get all the Season 3 Deluxe sets.
BTW (useless fact alert) has anyone noticed that all 20 box sets from the 4 seasons fit perfectly into the oversize Season 3 Deluxe Boxes? nice.

From what I can remember, Smiths only released two limited edition season 2 DVD things. The first was on 2.4 with the mouse-mat and the other was on 2.5 and that had a little desk calendar thingy. I didn't manage to get either unfortuantly.

Incidenly, Smiths in Canterbury used to have a security guard that looks almost exactly like Crais (except he had less hair, quite a bit less ;))

Try www.mvc.com (or it could be www.mvc.co.uk) and also www.amazon.co.uk aswell. Some online dvd shops in the uk may still have them as all S3 was in that format aswell as the normal format.
