After the mini trailer airs tonight, I'll be either:

A: turning off the tv

or

B: changing the station

Let Scifi know that we want Farscape, not more Stargate (what were they thinking? 8yrs isn't enough for this type of show?). I do the same thing when Farscape reruns air on Scifi.

Fight the power! :D

Anubis, I like your avatar :)

You should check out Gateworld, they are being so great about the promo during SG:1 We're all scifi (not necessarily SciFi) fans, afterall.

It's such a great thing for FS that they are airing the promo during their most successful show...and the season premier, at that. I know we all want more, but this is a very good start.

I will admit I watch Stargate... minus a thing I dislike about the mythos of the show and the season with "that Guy"...anyway I don't normaly watch the first airing but I will tonight and I think it does nothing to turn it off right after the promo airs. If you are going to because you never watch the show that's fine but don't do it only to spite SciFi, they'll know who tuned in to see the promo and who likes the show anyway.

I like Stargate, I would have been watching regardless of the trailer.

I like Stargate too, I just don't understand why they need a new one. 8yrs is enough.

And I agree with what JrMissToughChick said about them already knowing who will be tuning in as regular viewers and who will be just for the trailer, so, disregard my first post I guess. sorry

DUDE! I was not giving you flack, I promise!! There's just been so much anti-Stargate stuff around here, I feel I have to pipe up to say I actually like it. I wouldn't have found Farscape in the first place had it not been for Stargate. And if I had not had a 'Scaper co-worker, I would hve given up on IT with no back story in reruns! :D

Stargate was good until Sci-Fi got their hands on it. It went downhill after that. But, I still like Daniel Jackson:).

CHILLS when I saw the promo! Absolutely!

There's room for both SG-1 and Farscape. I never got into SG until Farscape went away, but still. The more sci fi the better. I'm just not sure we needed Atlantis. Oh well. Three cheers for the MINI!

don't you guys get tired of feeding the Skiffy hate? they made a business decision. yeah, it sucked but, if us watching in the first place didn't register enough to keep Farscape on the air because it wasn't getting high enough ratings, then why would you believe that turning off Stargate after watching the promo would register either? unless you are a Nielsen home, it won't matter.

What I don't get (and what I had previously thought), is why don't Satellite and cable broadcasters monitor the number of systems tuned to a certain channel? I mean, it could be anonymous, like they could have the channel number, and a number next to it displaying how many receivers are tuned in to it. That wouldn't really be invasion of privacy, and it would provide much more accurate rating scales. I mean, doesn't the media industry get that anyone who has to go out of their way to get a Nielsen box might have an agenda?

Yes, they do, which is why Nielsen boxes are allocated randomly and people aren't allowed to volunteer to be Nielsen viewers, precisely to prevent the ratings from being rigged by people with agendas (like, say, us :D ).

There's a lot of debate about how reliable the Nielsen ratings really are, but it isn't possible for someone to "go out of their way to get a Nielsen box" and deliberately skew them that way.

I've got to admit I like Stargate, but I never really watched until Farscape was cancelled. I like Sci-fi in general. I don't know about Atlantis but before I cut it down I better watch it first.

I actually didn't know that.

So...Nielsen boxes are randomly placed into TVs? That to me seems like an invasion of privacy. I think my system works. It should be put into immediate effect.

Side note: My mothers maiden name is Neilsen. Not Nielsen, but Neilsen. It drives me nuts because I'm always typing Neilsen, then going back and fixing it.

No, famliys are paid to particapate, I wish I had one.

so did ya'lls see the second trailer (during the second hr.) mmm that one was good too

Families are randomly picked to be invited to be Nielsen viewers, but they can turn it down if they want to.

So you can refuse to be a Nielsen viewer if you get asked - what you can't do is volunteer yourself.

I love Stargate and I loved the trailer. I'm also sure I'm going to love Atlantis

I regularly watch:

Farscape
Stargate
Quantum Leap
Lexx (when I'm bored and its late)
Star Trek (every single series)
Battlestar Galactica
Firefly
Alias
La Femme Nikita
Plus more...

And I Still crave MORE scifi/high tech programming. There could be twenty shows like stargate and farscape on TV and it still wouldn't be enough for me. Bring me more scifi programming!!

Think people...

When they advertised FARSCAPE in the premiere of Stargate SG-1's season they gave it the best promotion ever. Think of all those that tuned in to watch the premiere and saw the trailer for Peacekeeper Wars. This did Farscape no injustice, rather, it put it on a pedestal!!! That was great advertising.
