Hey there all you fantastic Scapers! :D

There's a new Website in town! It's called Benaholics Unanimous, and we're looking for more than just a few enthusiastic Ben Browder fans to come visit and give us some help with a Browder-centric task we have decided to tackle.

Here's the story (some of you may have already heard it) ...

Several weeks ago, the lovely, talented, and energetic DorothyGail :rollin: met with Brad Keller. :director: Brad is the head honcho at Fireside Entertainment -- the company that produced Ben Browder's latest gig, "A Killer Within". Brad asked [well, actually, he relented after DorothyGail pestered him for 6 months...] :dunno: if he could enlist the help of the fans (that's US!) to help stir up some noise and enthusiasm for the movie ... and thus for Ben's career. Seeing as how so many of us are Ben-a-maniacs, she said "YES!" :crazydanc She put up some threads here and at FMD and a few other places ... so maybe some of this sounds familiar.

Anyway ... that's how "Benaholics Unanimous" was born. What this loosely organized gaggle of people is trying to accomplish is to get the financial backer of the movie (Dr. Pepper) to sponsor an open-to-the-public party to take place after the initial screenings of the movie in Dallas and Los Angeles. If we can nudge them (politely) into doing that, then our next goal will be to make sure that there are plenty of people at those parties to wave at Ben, and mingle with the cast and crew that attend (wouldn't that be a blast?!?!?!) and ensure that the film industry knows that both Fireside Entertainment and Ben Browder are a good investment. More films, more work ... more BEN BROWDER!!!

So we've got a new website: Benaholics Unanimous. There's some contact information over there, and some different ways to send the message to Dr. Pepper that we'd REALLY like to have a reception/party after the screenings. As we get more information, we'll be adding dates, locations, contact information, and such. The place is a little messy right now. We've got the walls up, and the electrical and water turned on, but the sheetrock isn't finished, and the painters have yet to come in and make the place all pretty and presentable. But the guts are there, and we're asking for your help.

You can also become a MEMBER OF BENAHOLICS UNANIMOUS! If you're a bit loopy over Ben Browder and his acting (not to mention how he wears those leather pants), then stop in and become a member of Benaholics Unanimous. You don't get a frelling thing in return for joining. No shirt, no pin, no certificate. But we'll add your name (and if you want, your picture) to the Membership List, and you can proudly shout from the rooftops, "I'M A BENAHOLIC, AND I'M PROUD OF IT!!" (And people will look at you askance, and ask "What the heck is a Benaholic?" ... at which point you explain and thrust several DVDs of Farscape into the poor soul's hands.)

We could use your help. We're not going to "promote" Ben's career, or buy advertising space, or ask for money. For now, this is about making sure the "industry" is aware that there are VIEWERS out here that really, really, really want to see "A Killer Within", and more specifically BEN BROWDER. We'd like a mob of people to send some postcards, some e-mails, or some online feedback in order to take the first step in pushing the movie. If that succeeds, then there's going to be an opportunity for some fans to meet with Ben Browder and the rest of the people who made A Killer Within, and maybe that will lead to even more opportunities to see Ben on-screen.

Stop by Benaholics Unanimous. Wander around. Explore. Send a postcard or two or three to Dr. Pepper. We'll come back and bug you as we get more of the project underway. DorothyGail is in touch with Fireside Entertainment, Tiriel is working on a few things, and the exceptional Scorpy808 has a piece of the project in hand. And may I also once again thank Ratscape for more of his unbelievable artwork (for the postcards -- which can be downloaded via a link to Bouncing Eyeball Productions).

BENAHOLICS UNANIMOUS

Any time you want to visit, you can just click on the banner you see below. A few of us are wearing them in our sigs. If you'd like to add it to your signature (here or at any other forum), drop me a PM, and I'll send you the gobble-de-gook in order to get it to show up.

PLEASE feel free to spread this around. If you are a member of another forum, cross post. If you are a member of a non-Farscape forum, take it over there and blow this horn as loud as you can. If you are a member of a non-internet group that would benefit from some Browder-exposure, spread the word. The more the merrier!

Thanks for your help, Scapers. This is for Ben Browder. Come take a look around. Send an e-mail. Join us!

And me, too, DorothyGail

PS - although I appreciate the "...lovely and talented..." accolade, I can absolutely acknowledge the "energetic" one, and admit that my nicknames as a kid were "leech" and "wart" because it was hard to get rid of me once I had a goal...

Woo Hoo! This is awesome! Now, if we could only get them to sponsor a screening in New York City.
