between you, me, the fence post and 10 thousand of our closest friends, ADV was very excited about being able to include that particular extra.;)

I can believe it. It was a wonderful surprise when I started to watch the extras. I watch those first wheneve I get a new DVD... and this was an amazing surprise. Plus the half hour with Anthony Simco... Well worth the wait for this DVD.

If only there had been the sneak peak of the Mini that was just aired on Skiffy... that would have made it even better.

Plus Wayne Pygram saying that he is supposed to get his boots when the show is over... and they still won't give them to him 2 years later... :woohoo:

Did you guys get the same as we got on Contenders last dvd? Ie the Farwell documentary with the SaveFarscape stuff from one of the creation cons or was it something different?

I can't wait to go to Best Buy today. The shipment better not be late this time. Or I will be frelling mad. The extras sound good. faustus why don't you try one of those online stores like deepdiscount or ebay to get season four? I can't believe OZ doesn't have Farscape DVDs seaseon four since it's taped there.

I don't think they've even showed it on TV yet. If they did, I know it took a very long time. I know, it's utterly unbelievable. Their networks are as bad as ours for chosing programming

well season 4 never got show on OZ on free to air TV, but it was shown on cable.

It's beefed up from what's on the R2 release -- which means it made me cry MORE!

Awesome. I'm still just a neophyte in the land of Scaperdom, but I couldn't be prouder of the show, cast, crew and *fans*. 'Scuse me while I go sniffle and maybe watch the miniseries trailers a few dozen times...

I got my message almost a week ago from DeepDiscount that my 4.5 had been mailed - but I don't have it yet! :(

I know media mail can take awhile, but I didn't think they still used pony express!!

Maybe they're sending it by carrier pigeon

I got it and watched the SaveFarscape special first. Great work. Especially when they showed each cast member talking about when they heard about cancellation and then playing the scene (most of which were cut from the final episode) that they had to go through after they heard. Very emotional piece. And nobody told Lani!!!

Now all we need is a complementary documentary on the making of the mini to go with the DVD! With interviews to cover the euphoria when the cast and crew heard they were going back to work. You know, all the stuff they were bursting to tell us in Burbank last year...

It's hard to describe the incredible sweetness watching that Savefarscape bit, and knowing that the saga continues. And I don't feel a bit sad that Wayne will never get his boots..Farscape won't end....

Was the "Farwell" extra made before the mini news surfaced, I hope so? And where was Ben/Lani?

Yep-it was on the UK's dvd set last year released in August so must have been taped before that. :)

"free tv" is anything that isn't HBO, Showtime, etc. the only way to get regular television channels without paying someone, is to hope "rabbit ears" work where you live. to get any reception at all for the average viewer, one needs to have either, cable service or satellite service. the basic service is "free" in that you don't have to pay extra to get the movie channels. so yes, Farscape was aired on "free tv" in the US as Skiffy is not a "premium channel" that requires an additional fee. if it's part of your service provider's channel lineup, it doesn't cost any more to get it.

The farwell with DK was filmed on the last day of filming season 4. The Save Farscape as has been said was filmed a few months later at the 2002 Burbank Convention. Ben was unable to attend. He stayed in Oz. Lani was not in attendence either.

Finally got my copy of 4.5 yesterday!

Watched the Savefarscape part first.

the bits with savefarscape staff in it were filmed at the NYC creation con in november 2002

Being a nosy person, who was who in that bit? It's nice to put a name to a face.

Also, who did the interviewing of all the interviews that have been put on the DVDs? Did ADV have someone or was it someone from the campaign?

Lani was in that piece as was Rebecca Riggs. I thought the only convention Rebecca had been to was the one in Chicago? So I'm confused by some of the above statements.

Anyway it was a great bit to have on the 4.5 DVD set!

I don't believe that meaning in 1998 I had no cable, therefore that was free, but if that’s what that means.

I saw the Special features today they were awesome... and touching Poor Lani.

All the extras were provided to ASV and Contender by Hensons so I guess they filmed them all maybe?

Tsk...my bad...I stand corrected... Lani was at the convention...of course he was :) I guess it shows I'm not in the Lani fan club. He's great...I'm simply blindsided by Claudia and Ben...What can I say :)

I need to start buying the DVDs. What would you guys suggest the box sets or collections?

Dangermousie

Well, in US not all boxsets are out yet. If you have R2 capability player, then I think UK is farther along than we are. Box sets are cheaper.

Well I am talking about the Complete season season 1, 2 and soon 3 I believe. I guess what I am asking is the special features on the Season Box sets sufficient as the ones in the collections?

The ADV box sets are the same as the smaller sets but just in one er box. :lol
There's no additional material in the US ones. The UK ones though do have more in them than the UK individual sets. Hope that helps.

The Save Farscape piece was filmed by ADV by the producer of the Farscape DVDs and was done at the November 2002 New York Farscape convention.
