Just read the article, was going to post it if it hadn't already been.

Wonder where he got his information from?

"Farscape: Peacekeeper War"
STATUS: Premieres in late 2004 on the Sci-Fi Channel.

Though it never got beyond a cult status even in the rarefied world of sci-fi fandom, the Jim Henson Company’s “Farscape” developed a reputation among its fans as a haven of intelligent storytelling. It returns from cancellation limbo briefly later this year for a four-hour miniseries that will pick up right after the final episode of the series’ original run.

I like this though:

"'Buffy' is long gone, and the 'Angel' TV series just had a stake driven through it. 'Farscape' was cancelled long ago, and the 'Star Trek' franchise has for years been zooming at Warp Nine to the Suckitude Galaxy."

That's the first paragraph of the article. It's cool how obviously the writer knows that Farscape was an awesome sci-fi show, one of the greats.

Sad that currently 18% think there's nothing upcoming of interest. If it weren't for Farscape I'd vote for Earthsea. Seems like no one is voting for that.

I'd really like to know why Stargate has such a following. To me its about one step above Andromeda!

I voted for Doctor Who. After all, it's been a long, long time. I'm really waiting for what comes after "The Peacekeeper Wars". ;)

BTW, I thought Farscape fans were supposed to be smart. The word is "losing" --with one O. I see this misspelled all over the Web, and it really rubs me the wrong way. I mean, come on! We can spell "Aeryn", "Zhaan" and "T'raltixx", but we can't spell a frelling everyday word like "lose"?

Sorry B, some of us are just plain stupid and cannot spell everyday words. We may also not have English as our first language which, everyone knows, significantly descreases one's IQ.

Okay that's a valid point, but very few people have a computer without some kind of word processing software which always has a spell-checker. If one is notoriously bad at spelling, one should use the word processing software to write a response and then cut and paste it to the reply section and spare all of us the pain of misspelled words.

Voted again. (shh, I deleted my cookies so I could vote a second time. bad Digger?)

Oh, and the spelling thing; I joke about spelling all the time (see the Haiku thread last week for an example). I also make spelling mistakes all the time. Not because I can't spell, but because my typing skills are lousy. Case in point. In the last sentence I originally spelled the word because wrong, switching the a and u. Sometimes I catch the mistakes, sometimes I don't. But since this forum hasn't got a spell check function I try not to get too anal about it, although once in a while I shake my head when I see words like "their" spelled "there" or "you're" spelled "your". But, as has been said, sometimes we either have a brain-fart or english simply is not the first language. It happens to the best of us.

Edited because (yup, you guessed it) of a spelling mistake.

grinner
07-15-2004, 11:58 AM
at least spelling errors are not as bad as someone writing before... b4. or hate... h8 or the like. I loathe those more than anything.

Bargaintuan
07-15-2004, 02:50 PM
Oh, God, yes!

The only thing I hate worse that "loosing" is "neone". There's simply no excuse for that.

"Loosing" has been a pet peeve of mine ever since I started surfing the Web.

Anyway, to bring this thread back to the topic, go Farscape!

And please don't vote more than once. If someone gets caught, they might reset the voting or worse, disqualify Farscape. It makes us look much worse than any misspelling ever could.
