I'm bored, and none of my friends appreciate my happiness when it comes to meeting famous people, so I'm sharing my stories here!

About three weeks ago I went to see Rent (the musical) when it was in Boston. I had talked to one of the cast members and one former cast member online before the performance. I met Brian (Mark) and he gave me a huge hug because I've talked to him on the CB boards and I got a picture with him. I talked to Jeff (Roger) and Marcus (Collins) and got autographs of all three. When I went over to Jeff, he looked up and said "Nice shirt" because I was wearing my batman shirt, and the he looked up more and said "Whoa, nice hair!" because it was crayon red. I even got to see Constantine after the show! He was hanging around the door and I saw him when I was talking to Jeff (jeff was constantine's understudy before constantine left) and I was 99% sure it was Constantine but I had to make sure, so I asked Jeff if that was Constantine and he said "Sure is." I said OMG, got my picture with Jeff, and left to go talk to Constantine. Only later in the car did I feel bad for kind of blowing Jeff off...but anyway, I went up to Constantine and started talking like an idiot. I was just so excited to see him! I got his autograph to even though he isn't with the show anymore. I was just very very excited to see him. I got my picture taken with him too!

and then this past Saturday I went to see Rent in NYC twice. I met Matt Caplan after that show and I saw Melanie Brown (Scary Spice) and Jai Rodriguez (the one from Queer Eye)!

and on tuesday, I went with some friends to see Beauty and the Beast with Brad Little and it was AMAZING! We thought the show started at 8, and we were going to get rush tickets, so we got there at 7. And apparently the show was at 7. So we somehow got incredibly lucky and got seats. When we were standing there, Brad walked by us and Marcie said "Hi Mr Little!" and he said hi. When he started walking away I told him he was our favorite Phantom, and he turned back and said thanks or something (I was in slight shock). Right before intermission, Marcie went out to the box office to get Brad's cd, and the woman she bought if from said that Brad told her that if we hung around after, we could get his autograph. So during intermission me and April also got the cds. They were pre-autographed and it said "Your Beast, ♥Brad Little". WHEE! So after the show they did a thing where the actors come out and talk and answer questions for people. He wasn't there when the thing started, and about 5-10 minutes in he came in. Someone introduced him and me, Marcie, and April started screaming and he pointed at us! We waved back and I know I giggled. After the thing he came right over to us and chatted with us for at least 15 minutes! And he gave us hugs, and autographs, and let us take a picture with him! And we actually talked Phantom. I asked him to sing Past the Point of No Return, but he didn't...but thats ok! He was talking about the movie and how he really hoped it would be good. He said that the trailer looked good and all and how he would have to see it when it comes out of course. We talked more about the movie, but I dont' really remember what.

OK, I'm done rambling now. :D Anyone else got any good famous people stories?

I bought Ray Harryhausen lunch once!

Working at a dinosaur quarry, he came out for a tour, and they sent me into town for some Subway!

In July 2001 I was doing the Paramount Studios tour and we walked past the Enterprise sound stage. It was a very sunny day and two actors sat in front of the stage in a blueish uniform. The show was still covered in secrecy, so I didn't know who they were (later found out they were Travis and Reed). When I saw them sitting there I left the group and swiftly walked towards them to ask if I could get a picture with them. They agreed to that, but when we posed a security guard came in front of the camera and yelled "NO PICTURES!". That was bummer....

I rode in an elevator once with Roger Moore in California.

I know Nicklas Lidstrom (Detroit Red Wings) and I've met Tomas Holstrom (Detroit Red Wings). My sister and I babysit for the Lidstrom's kids. :)

I got my picture taken with Diane Sawyer and Charlie Gibbons from Good Morning America when my sister and I were vacationing in New York.

BaseLine- that's wicked cool! kinda sucks that you couldn't get a picture with them though...I would of taken it anyway. even if it turned out to be a picture of the guard. would have been a funny story to go with the picture at least! :D

Yeah. It really sucked...but it was still very cool to see them there in their uniforms while the community was still largely in the dark about that. That's one of the reasons why pictures were not allowed. I did manage to take a picture of the SFX trailer with the Enterprise and the Voyager logo that day. Not as spectacular as a picture with me, Travis and Reed...but still :)

I met Robert Newman once, and the estranged wife of John Edwards. Don't see too many celebs up in the ol Wiscon of sin. I'll meet Tony Shalhoub one of these days though!

I met Charlton Heston several years ago. He had a book signing in our town and my mom is a big fan. She wanted me to go with her and I got to met him. He even sat and talked with us for a while. He seemed to be a very nice man...he sure did impress me.

He was only in the site for about an hour, after I got back with the sandwitches.

I'm still insanely jelous of my co-worker who won the filp, and got to take Mr Harryhausen out to Dinosaur Provincial Park for a day to hook up with Dr. Phil Currie! (aka the dinosaur GOD!)

I have met alot of famous people. Too many to list. I think the best one though was George Burns. Ran into him at a horse track in Maine. He invited Mom and I to sit at a table with him and we made a few bets together. Around the 6th a man came up and said he had to go so he talked for a little while and then left. It was cool and relaxed. I dont go all crazy when I meet someone famous. They need private time too. They are just like regular people with a better job. :D Hanging out in NYC taught me that. :D

A friend of mine works in the local airport private jet terminal and gets to meet all the famous people that have been here. All the major stars and stuff. She has a scrap book that would make anyone jealous. Full of photos and autographs.

I'm related to a local weatherman who is pretty famous around here. Does that count? :lol

Katharine Hepburn once said: "Acting really isn't a high class way to make a living, is it? Nobody ever won a Nobel Prize for acting."

I've been lucky to have badge access for the 50th anniversary of Cannes Festival in 1997.
They were all here ! Lol. So many of them...
I can tell you that when you are a cinephile, meeting all those people you admire is delightful : Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, David Lynch, Youssef Chahine, Luc Besson, Tim Burton, Gong Li, Isabelle Adjani, Charlton Heston, The Cohen Brothers, Ken Loach, Abel Ferrara, John Hurt, ...I could go on like that for hours ;)

I have a special remembering of John Waters with one of his typical checked (?) jacket, holding his little Festival de Cannes bag and hanging and glaring around like some sort of tourist, until he came and ask me were he could find some toilets :D Funny and cute guy.

What I don't get on the other way is how hysterical or perturbated or whatever abnormal behavior people can be when they meet somebody famous...

While I was away in WI for college Bill Paxton and Billy Bob Thorton were filming a movie near my hometown in MN. Well, it turned out MN didn't have enough snow that year, so they ended up moving some of the production to the town where I attended college. My friends and I were at the bar one night (I'm not sure why because we didn't go to this bar often) and Bill Paxton walks in. We were pretty much the only people there and after Bill picked up his drink he wandered over to talk to us (bored I guess). We chatted about all kinds of stuff for about an hour and then he had to leave. About a week later I was there with the Admissions staff (I worked for the college Admissions office) and in walks Bill again. He recognized me and walked right over and took a seat. I think one of the secretary's jaw is still on the floor. He stayed for about an hour again. Then a couple of days later I was working and who should walk in but Sam Raimi (although I didn't know who that was at the time) and Bill Paxton! Sam was looking for the Administrative building (which was across the street) and Bill decided to tag along (he wasn't needed that day) to check out what everyone was talking about! The visiting prospectives got quite a treat that day!

I met Mr. T one day while delivering Pepsi to a large liquor store in Downtown Chicago.

I met Walter Payton while delivering Pepsi to his old club in Downtown Chicago.

I met the members of Slayer at an A&W rootbeer stand outside of Grand Rapids, Michigan

I met Jason Newsted at a college party. One of my best friends was dating his sister... and he showed up.

I actually have met quite a lot of musicians over the years from working security at concerts (tip... this is a great way to get paid to go to concerts)

I met Isabel Sanford at the Jewel on Broadway in Chicago

The only famous person I ever met was Jeffery Nothing, lead singer of Mushroomhead. He is a minor celeb, but he is my favorite singer, so it was a big deal to me. I shook his hand, got my shirt signed, but instead of saying "Your music helped save my life brother, thanks", I just kind of said nothing, except "sup".

I've lived in LA for most of my life, and you get a lot of famous encounters here. Let's see:

When I was eight or nine, my sister and I used to see Burt Lancaster all the time at the corner market. He had a condo up the street and was very friendly, always greeting us with that enormous smile. A class act.

When I was in high school I got to know the children of Martin Sheen, Peter Sellers and Charles Bronson and later met all of them. Very cool. Sellers was fairly reserved, but when Sheen came to pick up his daughter from school, he hung around for an hour talking politics with us, while she begged him to take her home. I met Bronson for the first time in his kitchen, after midnight, while his daughter and I were really stoned and scarfing Crunchberries. It had the potential to become a really bad trip, but he turned out to be ultra cool. As I got to know him better I found him to be one of the nicest and most relaxed people I've ever met.

I've also talked a few time with Sidney Poitier, who is a friend of my aunt. Integrity and dignity personified.

Once in one summer I ran into Howard Hesseman three separate times. By the third time he recognized me and I think was starting to wonder what the deal was. Just weird coincidence.

When I worked at Fred Segal I sold a Filofax to Sherilynn Fenn, books to Harrison Ford, and a photo album to Tom Hanks.

Now I'm the corporate administrator for hair salons in West Hollywood and New York, and have met Johnny Depp, Uma Thurman, Tea Leoni and David Duchovny, Sharon Stone, Salma Hayek, Penelope Cruz, Debra Messing, Jewel, Sir Ian McKellen, and a few others.

What can I say - I'ts a hell of a town!

From what I've seen, celebrities are mostly like anyone else - except that everywhere they go, they have do deal with being stared at and approached by strangers. Some tolerate it and some may enjoy it, but most just want to be left alone. I've always met them in social or work environments, and I've always treated then as I would treat anyone else, with respect. That seems to work pretty well.

I've met all the guys from Bad Religion (except Mr. Brett) several times. They're all really cool really nice guys.

Other than that I've met other people from other bands. I met the bass player from Bush, Dave, that was cool.

I almost met Tony Hawk at a Bad Religion show in Vegas but I was too confused at the moment I saw him. We were looking at each other, and I just kept thinking, "Why the hell does that guy look so familiar? Do I know him?" Only after he went through a door did I realize who he was. The two boys I was with freaked out and went in to search for him, but to no avail.

Some of my relatives are famous. I won't talk about them.

and......

The first famous non family member I met was James Best in character (Rosco P Coltrane) at a car show. I was 9

The second was Wayne Gretzky, we had breakfast together, I won a contest at age 12. I wasn't a fan of his, but free food, you know.

I have met many many hockey players that later made it to the NHL , some are Grant Fuhr, Murray Bannerman, Andy Moog. Those that were already famous, Guy LaFleur and Ken Dryden. I met all of these guys and a few more by the time I was 13.

I met Bobby Orr when i was 27 in a bank, he lived in my town, i had no idea. I was wearing a Montreal Canadians jacket and he came up behind me. I was in Bruins country. I turned around and recognized him, I shook his hand and told how I became a Habs fan. Which is, I was 6, he quit, and Montreal was better than Boston, at the time. He laughed and said had he known I would have switched sides, he would have played longer. i said yeah right, and then we exchanged small talk until we made it to available tellers. He is one of the nicest guys.

I have met many many famous people, and am familiar with some of them, and aquainted with others. one story that I like to tell people is actually 3 or 4 stories and they are just weird.

I seem to be connected to James Brown and his wife (or wives) I can't keep track of that part. When I was a teenager, I bumped into him at a convenience store near the Commons in Boston, my step brother told me that it was James Brown, I told him to stop messing around. the man said no, it was true, and would we like an autograph. i have only got 2 autographs in my life, James Best and Wayne Grestky, they don't fascinate me. I said no, and realized it was him and told him how much I enjoyed his music.

I went to Germany with Army a year later. I was on my way to meet up with Tom Petty, yes in person, and we stopped at a gasthaus to eat, and guess who's there, James Brown. I said hi and mentioned that I had met him the previous year in Boston. He laughed and said that was great ( he dind't remember me) I never did get to spend any time with Tom Petty that evening, i know someone who is friends with him.

Later that year, I go to see James in Concert in England. I meet up with a friend at the airport to fly back to Germany together, she was on her way back from leave. we are waiting for our plane to board and I decide to go to the giftshop to get magazine to read, when I come back, my friend has a picture of her and james brown sitting in that very spot. I ask her where the frell James is, she said "over there" and I see him, I walk over thinking this is a good way to get remembered, but he makes it the gangway (i think that's what you call em) before I can reach him. His wife sees me and asks if I want an autograph, I said no, that's ok.

About another year after that, I'm home in NH taking my POS for a drive into Nashua from Greenfield, I'm waiting to turn left from 36 onto 101 when this white care zooms past at some very dangerous speeds. Then the state and local cops follow behind . I drive past the white car that is now pulled over on the 101 bypass and get to my appointment, where the receptionist tells me that James Brown wife just got busted on the 101 bypass.

I have run into either James or his Wife or girlfriend on a few more occassions. It's weird. For awhile i was seeing him more than my mother.
