So when did you guys first find out that there was going to be a Mini?

I could probably find this in a search but I hope you do not mind me asking anyway. I came here (by way of Google) after finding out that I could get Farscape DVD's from Netflix. Then was saddened to learn that the series had been canceled. But soon found out that there was a mini planned.

So I missed all the discussion that followed the shows cancellation. Trying to get a feel for what it was like for you all and how long the wait was. I can imagine that this place exploded when the news was heard.

We were fortunate enough to be able to release the information here last November. It was a long 5 months waiting for the official announcement, though. :lol

I was at a different message board and a Scaper there had said that there was going to be a mini-series. I was excited. Not long after, I seeked out SaveFarscape.com.

You guys were quick. Assumed the campaign had taken longer than that, though I'm sure it did not feel quick for you all. It's too bad that they are taking a year for the mini to air. My hope, and I am sure I am not alone, is that they will be setup nicely for a season Six then without missing the beat much.

No it didn't seem quick at all. We found out the news in September 2002 of the cancellation and worked for well over a year with nothing but our own fierce determination to sustain us. Everyone said it was hopeless -- all the "experts", even the cast had given up and several told us to our faces there was no point in continuing to try because it was over and would never be able to come back.

Then, last November, we were in the almost unbearable position of having "unofficial" confirmation that the miniseries was in the works, even reports that it was being filmed, but for whatever procedural reason we could never get "official" word. We didn't know who was going to show the mini, when it might come out, or who was even involved. It was gruesome -- and more than a few cracked under the strain of that particular wait.

Now we've actually seen a teaser trailer and word is starting to leak out slowly about the mini -- it's supposed to be EPIC! Of course we're still waiting, but at least we know we have NEW FARSCAPE to look forward to at the end of this particular leg of the journey.

Anyway, WELCOME TO FMD! :hi: There's still stuff to do, BTW, we need to make sure that everyone hears about the mini so we can have as many eyeballs watching as possible. That's the key to the continuation of the franchise (feature films or additional minis are more likely than a 6th season, although the possibility of a spin-off exists and Ben Browder has said he'd jump at the chance).

Thanks for the welcome. I am telling everybody I can about the Mini. I am a member of a few other message boards, a couple of them have a few hundred members. They all know about it now.

Well, I was bored, and had no farscape to watch so I decided to look up some Farscape images and came across Savefarscape, and so I went to the news section and read what was going on and I found out about the Mini there. I think it was with the "Hell Yeah" ad. And in the process I found this site, so its all good. Mini series...yay!

Personal experience: It was actually a friend of mine (the one who scaped me in the first place) who told me. We talk almost daily and in one of the calls, she told me: "Do you know FS is coming back?" I almost died :D That was back when there was no official word. I found out SaveFarscape would have info, went on the site and have been addicted ever since.
